It’s almost as if someone or some document urges them to adopt a morality of a bronze-age, tribal society.

I wonder if it was even your mom. I had a similar experience when I was in kindergarten and it’s never left my mind. My mom worked crazy shifts when I was little and we lived with my grandma, my dad and my sister. Sometimes my mom or grandma would get me up and ready for school depending on who was available.

A dear friend died of natural causes a few years ago, leaving behind three daughters. The middle daughter started using her mom's phone since she didn't have one, and on her birthday she got a voicemail that was just the sound of a party - talking, laughing, glasses clinking, but only women's voices. She's convinced

Here is a story that I have not shared before because honestly- it creeps me the fuck out. I don’t like thinking about it. I don’t like the things it implies about the nature of the universe we inhabit, and it fills me with existential dread. It also happens to involve a friend’s suicide, so it’s not the easiest thing

FINALLY!!! I have been waiting all year for this!! Here is my story.

Okay, so this year I can participate since the main player who would be scandalized by airing the laundry has passed. As background, my mother had me in her late thirties and her mother in turn had her in her late thirties. My mother was the youngest of eight children and had brothers much older than she, which is how

I was raised Southern Baptist. We didn’t tell ghost stories around the campfire growing up. We told possession stories. And we believed in them because demons are biblical. I remember having lively debates with my friends about the biblical case for demons and how not believing in them means you don’t believe

About 4 years ago, my boyfriend and I moved into a duplex just outside the city. The first day I was all alone in the house, I started thinking that I was seeing things out of the corner of my eye. Flashes of lights and shadows. I never ever had that sensation at my old place. It happens from time to time, but not

It’s the moooost wonderful time of the year! Seriously, I live for this thread. My experience is not nearly as spooky as others’, but here goes anyway:

I have been waiting for this thread all year! These will probably doxx me to anyone who knows me/my family, but they’re too good not to share.

My favorite single from her album, 1589, is definitely Welcome to New Yorick. Shake it Out, Damned Spot takes a close second.

Except that The Hunger Games already exists with a male lead, under the title of Every Other Action Movie Ever Made: Parts XXI-DCLXVI.

Or is it just not a bunch of angry men claiming women cannot play such roles such as Ghostbusters?

There’s a lot of pretty great misogyny in this post. Congratulations on that.

girl.

Maybe you should stop arguing emotion and go read the 14th Amendment. All kids born here are US citizens. The. End.

I love that she had that photo already. So much.

I don’t mind “we are going to have a baby” because yes, after the baby is born, they will both, as parents, have a baby. For similar reasons I also give “we’re having a baby,” a pass. But “we are pregnant”? Ugh. No. No, no, no.

I want to burn any couple that says they (‘we’) are having a baby. no you’re not. the woman is having a baby. the man is not growing a human being for 9 months and pushing it out of a grape-sized hole. fuck off.
