Oh, well, that's... something. So is he and/or she head of the executive branch? Or just like some random hanger on?

OK, this may seem to be an insignificant question in light of this guy's epic assholery, but why do you even HAVE lieutenant governors? I mean our's act as the queen's representatives but I am assuming this isn't the case in America.

Same!

Exactly the same here! I'd love them if they didn't hit three quarters of the way down my rib cage.

I'm pretty tall and the problem for me is that they never cut at my natural waist but sort of flare out from the bottom of my rib cage. It's not optimal and the opposite wouldn't be great either. Don't know if it's part of the problem for you.

This is exactly me! You can get their stuff really affordably if you just keep tabs on their already on sale stuff and I can use my student discount. Good for work clothes that allow me to look like a grownup.

BMI is about populations. Seriously. It was developed as a way to measure overall populations with easily available data. It wasn't designed to assess individuals. Case and point: the "healthy" BMI for my height has a 42lbs spread- now personally I'm overweight at the top of that and underweight at the bottom, but

The pope thing- I. Just. Don't. Understand. So many of my friends and coworkers are so into him and I'm just: congrats dude. You are slightly less of a bigoted asshole than everyone else who has had your job? Really setting the bar high there.

Here's the thing, I am (embarrassingly) still a virgin in my mid-twenties. I've always assumed it was a combination of my lack of stunning good looks and my anxiety.

Oh! Rant away then. I am in a much similar boat. And it's all the "vocation" stuff that gets thrown around that does it- I'm convinced. We just get to be a part of a culture where it's "not about the money" it's about what you are called to do- and all that happens from that is a bunch of people working in situations

Yes? I agree with you? I'm not sure if you are trying to argue... or.....?

Sadly, I can see the reason why so many of them do THAT.

Exactly. Not to mention the lack of permanent faculty positions for anyone born after 1970- the whole thing is a nightmare.

I guess? But, I mean, deans or vps or whatever must have done that at some point themselves. You would think they would be more invested in opportunities for academics. Or maybe that's just too sunshiny an idea of people.

To be fair... most of the highly paid administrators in my university are former academics- I'm forever puzzled by the way people get into administration and then apparently just no longer care about maintaining the academic career tracks that nurtured them when they were starting out.

My grandmother got married in the '50s in this really smart skirt suit. I've always loved that.

I'm always kind of puzzled when grown women go for the "I'm a princess!" style wedding dresses. Just... why?

That is exactly what I identified with as well. My mother (and her family) are all these fine-boned slight blonds who couldn't gain a pound if they tried. I, unfortunately, take after my dad. To be fair, my dad is a good looking man, but tall, broad and built like a brick house aren't always the best looks on a woman.

I've had two really fraught experiences on a plane:

CAESARS!!! I was once in a hostel in Scotland and talking to the bartender about what we missed from back home (we were both Canadians who had spent over a year abroad at that point) and she beckoned me in to the back room and pulled out a whole case of her personal Clamato juice and proceeded to mix both of us a
