I’d second the reply below that emphasized the truly amazing choreography. It’s a beautiful movie, though there are aspects that haven’t aged well. Your best bet might be to just watch clips of all the most famous scenes.

Agreed on Discworld being too much for the original Harry Potter demographic - namely, 10-12 y.o. non-bookworms. Discworld is wonderful and clever, but it scares off readers who aren’t ready for it. Harry Potter was easy and fun and welcoming. Basically, it was a perfect primer for future Discworlders.

That feeling - that the Doctor had been lessened somehow*- is the reason I’m about a season and a half behind. I think the Doctor said some version of “I don’t know what to do” ten times as often in 13's first three episodes as in the rest of nuWho combined.

The sequel was legitimately good and added a lot of complexity, and was also my first exposure to James McAvoy. I remember thinking ‘oh, I bet he makes it beyond sci-fi miniseries territory, he’s single-handedly raised the quality of this thing to ‘I wouldn’t even have felt bad paying to see this in theaters’ level.’

Speaking of Game of Thrones actors, the 2015 version also added a nice little character arc for Richard Madden’s Prince Kit. He felt significantly more like a real person than most Disney princes.

Huh, I 100% didn’t get any romantic undertones between the two of them. There was an absolute lack of physical or emotional awkwardness, that to me read more like siblings. Which is all to say, this is one of those cases where people really can read it either way.

Saw it last night - the camera was definitely too jumpy in the scaffolding fight, but the bus fight near the start of the movie was super fun, with good choreography and clean cinematography. The big final show-down was more of a big battle scene than a 1-1 fight.
