Same, mostly because they don't even give out nominations to those kinds of movies.

One of my favorite moments in the Making-of documentaries is when he mentions that he watched a lot of american action movies because he wanted to imitate that style of filmmaking.

Well, I guess it depends on what kind of chicken they had cooking up in that lab.

He's overrated. He's just tiny little rocks.

My brother shared a quote with me, I don't remember who said it and it was referring to videogames, but I think it fits anywhere: There can be discrepancy between creators and fans, because the latter might be more concentrated on stuff like shipping characters, while the former is trying to figure out what might be

Sometimes depression is a good thing. Every Tuesday. For my psychiatrist.

You're saying the same things I said. I wasn't conflating one term with the other, I said there might be some overlap. That's why I wrote I didn't feel labeling some things as pure "parody."

The long, mostly uneventful first half, the objectification of women and other things seemed to me like a commentary on the grindhouse movies of the 70s. I never said your definition was innacurate, I think what I meant to say was that there could be an overlap between what is satire and parody.

True. There is or was one in Mexico. A friend and I applied to be writers on it, and she got pretty upset when she found out we weren't hired. But it seems like the show is dead or no one cares about it, so maybe it was all for the best.

People who love something don't have the right to make fun of what they love? I'll grant you, maybe it's a bit weak to say that "Grindhouse" is a satire by your definition of it, but I think that also leaving it to "parody" would be innacurate.

I'm in the camp that says it's a joke, but there are many who differ.

Movies: "Volando Bajo" it's a mexican film that makes fun of the crappy vanity projects of celebrities from the 60s and 70s. "La Pantera Negra" is another mexican movie that makes fun of the Pedro Infante movies and 50s sci-fi films. "Matando Cabos" makes fun of the Santo movies in a scene.

I actually came close once, and your comment is the most demand I've seen for a video of mine, so I guess I'll do it sometime.

Yeah, because we only satirize current stuff, right?

Innaccurate.

Finally, an excuse to move to Toronto and make my James Bond movie shot with a DSLR and water pistols!

There are nice things about that movie, but Schinder's List was my beloved childhood classic.

So the Ian Fleming novels can be published by anyone or you could make a canadian adaptation of one of the books?

I have and I like it a lot. It's flawed, but a very enjoyable movie.

Well, it was satire.
