The coolest thing is how all the winners from the crew kept thanking him. I know it's obligatory in a way, but it's kind of rare to see so many people from the same movie actually thanking the director.

Pretty much. It's not as offensive as a lot of bad movies out there. But go figure, I know people who love it and think that the 90s Mario Bros. movie is a classic.
