If my friends are any indication, it’s age. Once upon a time, it was “let’s outfit a VFR with Givis, Helibars and snowmobile grip heaters and go touring” got replaced by “let’s buy a GS/KTM/etc. and sit comfortably upright with factory bags and comfort features I don’t have to muck around with”.

+1 to all of this but especially 5 & 6. Dad always taught me the job (any job) isn’t done until all your tools are put away.

Cars, like everything else in life, are political.

I watched the video. It appears to have a combined clutch/brake pedal so no gear shifting while under power. Also appears to have a hand throttle. So just fire it up, set the throttle, disengage the clutch, set the gear, engage the clutch, increase the throttle and you are zooming down the road!

A few years back, the AACA Museum in Hershey PA. did a rotating exhibit on early work vehicles. Not only did they have some amazing units like this, one was even a dual control standing unit. you could jump in either the street or curb side door, and operate the vehicle, standing up, cruising the ‘hood at trolling…

Plain clothes, running up and snatching someone without clear establishment of what authority you are representing is not how we as Americans accept an arrest. This person was not a violent extremist or anything that would require a tactic of this level. Nor would would we arrest someone who did meet that level in…
