He’s among the Sam Worthingtons and Jai Courtneys of the world to me, ie. the Boring Lead Men Who Must Be Stopped, although ironically it was the last Suicide Squad that actually almost took Courtney off that list for me, with his goofy scenery chewing Captain Boomerang.

It says something about the current state of the A.V. Club that when I saw the headline in my RSS feed, I assumed it was a typo for “main.”

I feel like this is worth reiterating:

And the THOUSANDS of diving headbutts that hurt him far more than his opponent...

I’ll go to bat for Season 5 of Community.

I think you might be romanticizing the other seasons of Rick and Morty a bit. Sometimes Rick and Morty is crazy with a point, and sometimes it’s just crazy. (I’ve noticed it’s often when President Curtis gets involved.) Where was the deeper, underlying meaning in Lawnmower Dog, or Get Schwifty? The show likes to

Except... it is a kids show and always has been. If anything the sudden attempt with Capaldi to make it adult-oriented is the anomaly and it didn’t really work which is why most of that run was characterised with “the episode wasn’t great except for Capaldi’s monologue”.

It appears to be fashionable to hate on “Black Widow” for some reason or another - my favorite is that it’s somehow “too late” for us to enjoy the movie - but I’m not going there. I watched it; I enjoyed it; I’m looking forward to what Florence Pugh brings to the MCU. I don’t need it to be anything more than that.
