The place to make that point is not at an Eid dinner with your very religious aunt and uncle.

Tom Cruise is the legitimately one of the only actors I'm confident in giving a great performance in any given movie.

I 100% agree that any argument that a character's powers, godlike or otherwise, will necessarily make all stories involving them "boring" is fundamentally idiotic, and no one who makes it should be taken seriously.

For my money, it's up there with the best of Moore, Morrison and Ennis.

I will say that the Max Lord stuff only figures in to the very, very last bit of his run.

…I'm pretty sure you two are agreeing that Batman's much more likely to impose fascism than Supes.

Don't forget Supreme!

I mean…anyone reading this can see that you referred to my "interpretation" as "one-note."

Secret Identity is one of the go-tos, as well.

Have you read the original Rucka run?

I will absolutely let them bastardize Watchmen to get the Tomasi Supes run.

I don't think Clark has a motivating tragedy, either.

Gail Simone is the fucking best.

Like how the fantasy of The OC isn't to suddenly become rich, but to have Sandy Cohen as your dad (and get either Seth or Ryan as your brother, depending on the perspective).

I mean, you know how into the concept of der Ubermensch a pair of men named Joseph Shuster and Jerry Siegel would have been in 1938!

"LANA?! YOU HURT LANA??!!"

Oh, I get the impression that there was exactly one black guy on the Sam Houston State baseball team in 1980, and he wasn't going to add a bunch more in to avoid thinkpieces.

Yup, and reducing the other characters to "new guy, the stoner, the cowboy, the ladies man" seems insanely reductive.

Zemo was fucking excellent. His plan was methodical and made sense, he had a legitimate reason to go after them and, best of all, he killed all the sleeping soldiers.

I actually like it a lot better than the first one.
