Aye. Copper work hardens over time. Tying them up also keeps them from eventually breaking from vibrations/wobbling or feet and hands getting tossed into them.

Mmmmm, bacon!
What is the crowd seeing beyond that pall of smoke? What are they hearing? Snarling engines and squalling tyres. Maybe smacks against the wall? None of this is possible with this edit. Cameras got it all but none of it is shown. A start into a blaze of smoke multiple times. Pfffft. Look at the Volvo Ocean Race…
This is such lousy, damned editting that it makes the video unwatchable. They let the music flow, why not the cuts? There is never a reason for such short takes of a car before switching to another and then another and finally back to the first. Makes no sense and is confusing. Leave the damned camera on the car for a…
Sully (Subaru Legecy E) has developed a squeak when started. And sometimes he squeaks when I turn real tight at low speeds. Power steering pump? I resolve to look into that, probably this year...
Thank you, Stef. I, for one, don’t remember hearing the term ‘mega truck” before. I’ve watched some of these YT vids of mud bogging and such but never noticed the term. There’s an old Ferd F250 here in the yard we’re thinkin’ of buildin’ for muddin’. Diesel, Dana 60s with portals and extra seats in the bed. It’s them…
Good on ya David. Something to be said for reliable, boring transportation. I DD a base model ‘01 Sububru Legacy E with 140k on the clock and hail damage. You mentioned the important parts: Heater is hot, A/C works, cruise control, decent suspension. >30 mpg on the highwway at 70 (keep the revs under 2800) and 2…
Pffffffft. Bought an $18 stainless stove top espresso maker from WalMart 8 years ago. Make 3, 4 cups a day in it, every day. Never fails. Use a propane stove on the boat but same results and timing for an electric stove when I had an apartment. Unscrew the top, wash the basket out, fill bottom with water, drop in…

Haven’t owned a TV in 20 years. As good as this may be, I still don’t see a reason to go get one. I like the print version(s) that I can read on this little screen, watch a vid clip now and again and then make comments on. Why would I stare at a thing that feeds me; a thing I can not interact with?
I suggest nipple cream, also known as anhydrous Lanolin. You can get a lifetime supply in a jar from yer local WalMart pharmacy...
I used to work alongside some folks from the 7 Tribes community. Ate with them a few times. They don’t use forks (but have them available for guests). I learned to eat Lasagna, bacon and eggs and salads with chopsticks (when in Rome and all). Now I use the chopsticks in my left hand so I can still get to the mouse…
Back at the end of the 80s, early 90s, I lived (and worked) at the Ren Faire there on Hwy 37 in Sonoma Cty. On faire days, there was an observed no-fly zone so we didn’t have planes interruptng our 400-year-old environment. That did not stop the races from Sears Point, however. Whether faire was on or not, sometimes…
I remember the stares folks gave me when I used to step up to the checkout counter with a 12-pack at 07:00. I never told‘em that I just got off night-duty. Let’em wonder or smirk...
I’ll listen to Dominick Cruz call a fight any day, any way. His voice is clear, his diction is spot on and he knows how to describe what I’m seeing.
AAARRG! Only people who do not mess about in boats call the front end of a boat the prow. The rest of us know that part as the bow.
Princess Erin naps anywhere she wants,
Yea, kinda what I was gettin at. But the baseball hat can be hot in itself. Today was 101F in the shade here, full humidity and the breeze never got going. Why I cut my hair short. No razor burn from frequent shaving, either. I’ve seen a few sailors get skin cancer on their ears from hats that don’t cover the ears,…
Seems the biggest problem with no AC is long hair. Stef, ya would not look so good with short hair but I stick a #2 on my Wahl haircutter and cut off my beard and hair every month or so. The head does shed a whole lot of heat so use a thin, mesh hat or snood and open them winders! $5 at yer local WalMart.
Does a nuc sub repair base count? Dry docks are about a mile away. Doesn’t bother me a bit. I’m close enough to hear the verbal warnings that trespassers will be shot but too far to hear when the degaussing pen is lit up.
The little town here in south GA takes a dock out into the middle of the river for fireworks. Local radio station will play theme music for the show. The 2 streets into town were already full of cars when I went out at 09:00 for a few things. I’ll miss the corndog and waffle fry trucks but me and the folks here at the…
