I don’t know that the Mars image is that abstract. It’s a decent representation of the location, at least, of the differing albedos.

I feel the same way. I left my last job about four years ago and recently applied for another and I only used references from my current position. I didn’t even think of getting a reference from somebody who hasn’t worked with in four years and when I was in a largely different position.

I was speaking less in terms of how it was handled and more about the fact that they could have killed John. In fact, I wrote at the time that the better decision would have been to kill off John. But they didn’t. They killed off the only female member of the main cast.

“Hey, everybody! Look how edgy we are. We kill off main characters!”

Hicks has an OPS+ of -48. I didn’t even realize that OPS+ went negative. I think we’re doing okay on that trade. Granted, John Ryan Murphy’s OPS+ is -19, but still...

Totally agree. We’re tackling the floors this summer, but I know a lot of people are scared of electrical work, but there are some basic things that are super easy. Diagnosing and replacing a broken outlet or switch is really easy and requires less than $15 of tools and equipment. Same with replacing a light with a

And when you factor in that Captain America is going to beat it and Doctor Strange could as well, BvS could very well end up being the fourth-highest grossing comic book movie this year, which is insane.

    My favorite story is this:

It’s not just cosplay photographers. David Carson, the St. Louis Dispatch’s photographer who won a Pulitzer for his pictures from Ferguson, is constantly having to go after people for using his photos. I’ve seen him have to go after political campaigns and even other news outlets.

I don’t think this is going to be an after-show, so much as their Watch the Thrones podcast from Grantland just put on television. If that’s the case, the benefit of having it on Monday night is that they get to discuss not just the episode, but also the critical and fan reaction to the episode.

Can you, American reader, imagine running such aw-shucks analysis on your favorite pro teams? No, you cannot. Because you know how to resent the success of others like a true patriot.

I will say, as somebody who quite enjoyed Man of Steel, I was quite drawn to the idea of a conflicted Superman in a world where his power is feared more than adored. It’s a good idea. The problem is that Snyder isn’t good enough to put it into practice.

There is quite a bit of skill to it but, ultimately, you’re still placing a bet on the outcome of an event (or events) over which you have no control. I mean, I can’t bet on whether Adrian Peterson will have more rushing yards than Matt Forte, but I can go to DraftKings and put Peterson on my team and play against

You can go with curtains or shades or whatever is to your liking. My point is just that most people don’t think of their window treatments much and spending a little bit of money beyond the $10 Walmart miniblinds makes a big difference.

I liked the movie a fair bit more than Rob, though I would probably call it “fine,” but what I can’t figure out is why you would cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan as Thomas and Martha Wayne and then give them a combined one word of dialogue.

Blinds, blinds, blinds. I can’t stress how much decent blinds or window treatments can change a room. Just upgrading white miniblinds for some 2" wood or faux wood blinds can make a huge difference. It gets rid of that “I live in an apartment” feel and makes everything much more homey.

The NCAA limited this by also limiting the length of a head start the kicking team gets to five yards. That way, it takes longer for them to get downfield, discouraging the intentional short kick.

Football Study Hall did a study on it after the first season. I don’t have the link but you should be able to Google it. They moved the kickoff to the 35, brought touchbacks to the 25 and limited kick coverage run up to five yards and the combined effect was to double the percentage of touchbacks from about 20 percent

And the first talkie, The Jazz Singer, was an adaptation of a play. Most of the first scripted television series were just filmed adaptations of radio serials. There is nothing truly new in Hollywood.
