You naysayers amuse me to no end. You live with your comparison numbers... sure, you could buy a Lexus for that price, and it would be more reliable. And cheaper. And an order of magnitude more boring.

An interesting challenge, and, yes, Doug, you’re living out my dreams for me, or nightmares as the case may be.

I just got a ‘title loan’, as in the title has a lien against it. It’s called a bank car loan, the interest rate was around 7%. The difference between me and the idiots who flock to these title loan places to get stiffed is - I know that banks do the same thing for a lot less money, and they don’t.

All of you people who want to put this down in a clinical, by the numbers manner are completely missing the point.

One thing that would keep me from smiling in an E30 M3 today is the absurdly high price. Start thinking what else you could have bought with that thirty grand...

I dunno... Americans like 4x4’s that keep running. I’ve had an 01 Discovery for a while, you can pick them up for peanuts these days. Sweet, plush leather interior, and quite the mountain goat off road, but...

When I was but a wee lad, someone in my small town bought a new Shelby GT500. A 1972 GT500. It lasted... two weeks. They brought the wreck into the gas station across from the high school for storage. Don’t think there was a single undented panel on the remains. What a pity... beautiful car. Yeah, the concept of

You came here in that? You’re braver than I thought.

The point of mobile artillery is not to be there when counter battery fire comes back at you. Stop, shoot, scoot.

Can we call this video to the attention of Daesh, and maybe link to a few videos of it being fired? They might want to know what is ripping them apart.

Ah, the AC130 definitely goes into combat, and it is propelled by gas turbine engines, so technically speaking, it is a ‘combat jet’. However, the 105 is a howitzer, or sometimes called a cannon, so it’s not a gun. The author’s original statement still holds true.

Who’s scruffy looking?

Ah, 00 was a particularly troublesome year. Still, for those miles, not a bad price. Darn sight better looking, too.

I normally agree with these great deals, but not this time.

It could also be that the dem debate came right after the Paris attacks, while the repub debate came before them. This is the first chance any of the pols have had to comment on the aftermath of the Paris attack, which is probably why it wasn’t contrasted with Republican comments.

Sanders thinks global warming is tied to terrorism? Sheesh, I know the diehard fanatics will go to great lengths to blame every hiccup in the weather on global warming, but even for an airhead, that’s pushing it.

What’s the point? TDI owners purchased in good faith. It was the mfgr that cut corners, not the owners.

Agree with a lot of them. Veyron... for the price, you’d think they could have hired a stylist. GTR... it’s little brother the 370 looks something like a bowl of jello, while the GTR looks like a bowl of jello that someone has been carving on. Supremely fast, absolutely. But it’s a car you want in spite of its looks.

Simple: parts of the airframe have been overstressed, bent, possibly cracked, and are likely to break when any sort of serious load gets put on them. You might be able to fly it straight and level in good weather, but this is a military aircraft. They don’t fly straight and level in good weather, they fly whatever

Good thing they got down in one piece, looks like they found another ‘never perform’ maneuver. Better it happens in test than in action.
