Exactly! While people are paying $80k+ for overvalued 70’s 911’s with their rust, weird handling, and short lived air cooled engines, you can get one of these for < $30k, and have a ball.

To paraphrase Austin Powers: Why won’t you rust?

More amusing than anything... I happened to take the visit when my girlfriend was selling her Nissan 280ZX. These two young gals show up, both dressed in tight black leather outfits, heavy makeup, heavy hairstyle, at 1:00 in the afternoon. It was going okay, and I was getting a mild come-on, until I had to tell them,

Hm... think it’s time to look into an updated F22? The world isn’t getting any safer. I had been thinking that most of our conflicts were decidedly low tech and wouldn’t need the super advanced weapons, but Putin just proved me wrong.

The other danger to Russia is that the Chechens who had gone to join ISIS may come home and start up their terrorism again. Easier to hit Russia there than at bases in Syria. If that happens, Putin is in worse trouble.

It’s another Putin gamble, now that the Ukraine adventure has turned into a mess. With Russia now attacking ISIS, the Chechens that had gone to join ISIS may decide to resume their attacks at home, something that would be very damaging to Putin.

Let’s say the Luftwaffe’s campaign against the RAF were successful. The RAF would have just had to pull its air bases further back. The Germans did not have the long range escorts to go much further than London in the day, and night bombing had not been very effective. Even so, an attempt to cross the Channel by an

Oh, come on. The Russians can’t even build a carrier that doesn’t need multiple tugs to get it home when the power plant breaks down, which happens almost every time it leaves port. That’s why they were buying two assault ships from France. They did design an advanced fighter, but can’t afford to build it in any great

No thanks, a FB page is one thing I never bothered with. Just another commercial entity to profit from your personal information. Before long, you won’t have any personal information.

As a child, I saw this one with my father not long after it came out... he made me promise not to tell mom he took me to a JB film. It still looks fresh today, just over the top enough, but when you’re 10 years old, it was nothing short of amazing.

I’ve also seen a few mid 2000’s AMG’s going for stupid cheap prices, in the $10k-15k range. Sure, repairs cost more when something breaks, but think of the times when something doesn’t break. That much fun for that little money... Put a price on the smug and guilt free grin you’ll have, if you can.

Thanks for making me look like a jackass in Syria, Vladimir.

If you can find a 9-2x for sale, it can be cheaper than an equivalent Imprezia, and so much more stylish. A lot of people shy away from Saab as being defunct, without realizing that this one is essentially a Subaru, and so are most of the parts.

The E36 M3 wasn’t a bad car, people are down on it because it isn’t particularly rare, sells cheap, and is largely owned by late teen/early 20’s types who rag it out and load it up with eBay junk.

Typical Portland whiny bullshit. Blame and shame what is visible, not who is actually responsible. Little twerp probably went home with a smug smile thinking they did something great. Same person probably whined last year because they couldn’t afford a TDI.

One reason that US ships, much like US tanks, have not gone to a lot of automation is... battle damage. Automated systems tend to go bad when a hit is taken, as the Soviets found with the automated loaders on their tanks. One good jolt, cannon no load. Humans tend to be more resilient to impact, and if one is damaged,

Ouch... the early factory 911 Cabrio’s were known to become flexy flyers after 20k miles. One can only imagine how loose an aftermarket cabrio conversion might be.

I dunno... my experience with M vehicles is that they don’t suffer neglect and inattention well. Things get expensive real quick when you buy parts with that M label on them. That one looks like it has been neglected on the outside, which means it has probably been neglected mechanically as well.

Interesting thought... if the Chinese go to all the trouble to build a bomber with advanced composites, why did they copy the rather ancient TU-16? A lot of things have changed since the 1950’s, especially in airframe and wing design, not to mention stealth profiles.

Bah... it’s just posturing. Given advances in stealth technology, satellite monitoring, radio intercepts, IP packet processing, you think that either side really needs to fly planes or sail ships close to the other’s country to spy on them? Advanced drones could do the same job without being spotted.
