What thisismyburner said. Basically every single t-shirt available in the 90s was a Hanes or Fruit of the Loom Beefy Tee. Thick, durable tees, ultra generous (read: baggy) cut. The concept of a form-fitting tee (for men) essentially didn’t exist until American Apparel came along.

I’ve never bought anything directly from American Apparel, but some of the comfiest graphic/band t-shirts I’ve bought online or at merch tables have turned out to be from there.

Oh God. White people need to take some sensitivity training before going to any African country. We could call it “How Not To Be An Asshole”.

I can’t wait for the Deadpool Oscar Campaign ads...

Speaking of the Bushes and their paternalistic attitudes towards people of colour, that which bothered me the most about Bush Hagar’s interview with Pharrell was not that she flubbed the name, but the way she reaches out to squeeze his shoulder. I cannot quite define the reason that it rankles so much but it seems

This part. It’s the same reason some folks have no trouble saying Zach Galifianakis but are stumped when pronouncing Uzo Aduba.

She just recently won an Emmy for a web series she produced. There’s always more than one entry point into a career.

This is..off topic. I feel desperate. None of my friends are around. I need like, a touch of female support. I just had a weird experience with a guy. I’m young. almost 22. I’ve only had a few sexual encounters. A little of that’s nerves, but a lot of it is not finding guys I click with in/adjacent to my social sphere.

That makes her even more deplorable. She was promoting White Hate propaganda for years, and it was damaging to women, the lgbtq community, and to people of color. This whole thing of allowing the conventionally attractive blonde hair white women off for being horrible people has to stop. Continuing to say that their

Who the fuck cares what race Santa is? Also, Jesus was not white. Hell, my Catholiv school in white surburia taught us that.

She is a fearmonger and a proponent of and apologist for hatred of various kinds; ain’t nobody deserve this toxic shit

“An exceptional journalist” this lady is not.

My feeling is, if you are sufficiently ignorant of history and context to the point where you say things that are indistinguishable from things an actual bigot might say, your lack of awareness isn’t really a defense against the accusation.

I can’t stand it I know ABC planned it
But I’m gonna set it straight, this Carey-gate
I can’t stand Dick Clarks new years rocking eve when I’m in there
Because your New years ball ain’t so New years clear
So while you sit back and wonder why
I got this fucking dancer by my side.

I forget what Stella’s previous management credentials were but she seems to be terrible at “managing” or whatever her job is supposed to be. According to the MC teevee show, her main duty is to blow bubbles, flatter and verbally reassure MC of her never-ending love. The rest of the tour production is secondary.

I have some extra-special Schadenfreude regarding Mariah’s meltdown... she was screaming about her monitors, which meant she couldn’t hear her own singing. This happens a lot with outdoor venues. You can see in the part of her performance where she does “All I Want For Christmas is You” she keeps touching her ear

And that is some corny ass choreography.

What kind of logic is yours? Seriously? How about the man who fucking sexually assaulted me will never understand the pain he put me through over and over again? So what should be done to him? What is the equivalent of that pain?

Yes it’s so infuriating that ball-kicking is considered OFF LIMITS. If men don’t want to be kicked in the balls, maybe they should stop ASKING FOR IT by doing fucked-up shit that makes you have to kick them in the balls!

There was some bad hair-band video in which a woman kicks some dude in the balls after he does something bad to her—I remember laughing at it as a kid and my super-feminist mom telling me that balls-kicking was akin to rape. Rape! I will never forget how shocked I was even as a child to hear my mother say that.
