Considering Sapkowski’s disdain for the games, and previous comments, the headline seems a little misleading. He got paid upfront, and even demanded a lump sum instead of being cut in on the backend.

Agree 100%, tried WOT and WT, Wot is just an arcade experince, albeit a fun one with lots of customization and variety. War Thunder just delivers in almost every aspect of a tank simulation (except the kamikaze planes in ground forces and the somewhat legendary and much argued OPness of russian tanks). IMO, War Thunder is a better game if you are looking for something more substantial. WoT has a lot of HP based damage, which works ok, but is pretty unrealistic and leads to a pretty restricted pay2win meta (bigger guns and armor are almost always better)

On a personal note, I want to express my appreciation to the owners of these vehicles for their interest and concern about the environmental and consumer issues in this case.

They’re a multinational oil company used to tons bad press and being the bad guy. I’m guessing they could have very easily said “fuck it”. Instead, they chose otherwise. And yes, this does net them goodwill. Doing a good thing even when it’s in your benefit is still a good thing.
