I don’t think so, simply because it was actually Krazy-8, who is an old friend of his, and could potentially be killed for this. Nacho has shown to be cunning and smart, but he’s a softie (in the best way, not like the way Kai implied in episode 1).

I appreciated that this pretty specific year gap was shown through Kim’s client playing an original Game Boy.
One thing that’s starting to bother me is Picard’s insane reverence for Data. Where did that come from? Definitely not TNG - Data and Picard are more acquaintances than friends there, and TNG Picard would never really elevate Data over the rest of the crew. Having recurring dreams about Data? Really? It plays out more…
This seems like crazy fanservicey, and I’m not really liking that. That said, the trailers for this show made it look *awful* and it’s not, so hey.
Woody Staying is an incredibly good call, partially because the meta-knowledge of the film (big, tentpole, Disney) meant he could *never* do that.
Wait, you saw Parasite and your takeaway was “poor people are parasites”?
I’m really looking forward to this. The show has consistently gotten better over time.
I hope not. Part of the charm of this is how devoid of any direct references it is.
I saw the twist ending but only after they flagged up Cal *so much* this episode, so not that long beforehand. In retrospect, I guess Blake’s thirst for Cal (she mentioned like three times that he was hot) was kind of foreshadowing it.
Another thing to note here: There’s an unpublished Woody Guthrie song called “Old Man Trump”, written in 1954 (!).
Having this as part of the first episode would’ve been awful. The entire build of the Mandalorian’s character as a not-quite-good-guy is vital.
It’s a good time to revisit it because the AV Club has noticed that other sites got a lot of clicks for doing the exact same, absolutely bafflingly stupid thing. Be glad this is only *two* years old, I suppose.
I can completely see why people don’t like this (slow, “nothing happens”), but I’m absolutely in love with how old-school and adventurous it feels. It reminds me a lot of Cowboy Bebop more than anything - a real space western with a small goal every episode that needs to be attained. I love the visual effects, too -…
The record itself was fun, too: not some Beethoven as is the usual for these kinds of characters, but reggae.
This isn’t really the same, though. You’re comparing large American products or events normalizing Saudi Arabia to a show being taken off Netflix in Saudi Arabia, for Arabs. It’s not being taken off Netflix in America, just in Saudi Arabia so they can show the rest of the catalog, and it’s a false equivalence.
Nice snide headline, but what exactly do you want, here? It’s either taking it off or getting banned from the country in a lot of these cases, and Netflix’s argument of the low-key progressive series (which, considering it’s Saudi-Arabia, is almost every single thing) being shown is a pretty decent one.
It reminded me of Arthur’s suit in The Tick.
Wait, no, they specifically made the point Dr. Manhattan *can’t* look human.
Name checks out!
Adrian Veidt’s butler was played by Tom Mison! Otherwise known as Ichabod Crane in the sadly only one season (shut up) Sleepy Hollow!
