I have to agree that this thing is designed to be incorporated in a kitchen counter rather than putting it on top. A wrong implementation does not make a tool impractical.

To be fair, looking at what and how it was written, the choice of tablet, which is iPad, to replace the original entertainment system that was the TV on the plane was not the writer's choice but the airline company. So, it's not about perspective.
