The iceberg wasn't the villain. The boat was clearly the aggressor.
The film's biggest flaw is that it didn't give him a mustache to twirl.
This movie is now underrated. It's very watchable, especially if you just accept the fact that the villains are cartoonish.
Not saying it's a perfect movie, but as a sequel, it's ideal. It's not "the same, but bigger", like, say, another karate tournament with a even more formidable opponent.
I'd say The Karate Kid Part II is a perfect sequel. It's the same characters in a totally different setting. It's not a rehash at all. Also, Sato and Chosen are great villains.
