I think she's similar to Robyn in that, even though it's "just" pop music, she sells the feeling. She sings with enough conviction that it sounds like she really means the sentiment being expressed, so it feels more like a real song than a product. So when she sings, "over the weekend, we can turn the world to gold"…
It's absurd how much CRJ I listened to in 2016.
