“want to pretend like they’re somebody for a Friday night before they realize that the mini-bar vodka just put their account into overdraft” - Hilarious. Dying. Great.

No, the relevance/reason I bring up Mark Donohue is he was used to US racing and car setup, and - as brilliant a driver as he was - he had difficulty adapting to F1's style (less stability vs. honkin’ downforce etc). So the reason I bring him up is to say that it is hardly valid to tell Marco here that Michael had

Ask Mark Donohue about the differences between US series and F1....

The bubbles in that champagne sure worked their way through quickly

You said “moist”

Or this

His driving record has gone to pot.

To $25

Well there is an official airport there; that’s where it would land. Believe me, you don’t notice the aircraft unless you go over there to watch them (which is pretty neat).

Yes, scroll through comments; I already addressed this. But short answer, emphatically YES.

I test drove both and the PP diff is noticeable. You don’t want the car without this. It’s uncanny how well it works. To tell the truth, as far as how this car feels when pressed cornering, you know of all the things I’ve driven what it most feels like to me?

A 928S.

My biggest complaint is that at dusk the light sensor does screwy things with the instrument panel illumination. It seems to get confused, turn them down, then you turn on the lights and they are very bright. I haven’t checked the forums yet, wondering if something is actually wrong, as this seems like a funny detail

I don’t have any such issue on mine. And I’ve had several Subes on which this typically IS an issue.

Yes. I was shopping for base with PP but an SE with PP/DCC/lighting came in and got a deal on it. I ended up very glad about this. All the reports are that the DCC doesn’t add that much and that the base susp is really good, but I’m here to tell you that you flip DCC into Sport mode and the damn thing corners much

FYI, (no offense Jalopnik) check the C/D site, they’ve had update up for awhile now.

Yeah I’m rather surprised Jalopnik hasn’t published (to my knowledge) info on these 2017 changes. C/D has had it up for awhile....

I test drove both and my main issue (other than less involvement) with DSG was it needs a mode in between regular and sport, or regular should just be more responsive. It did seem to creep just fine but its behavior in regular traffic was just too vague (or too snappy in sport mode).

You want the GTI. PP + DCC minimum. I can’t shut up to anyone about this. Trust me. (As for 6M vs DSG, your call. I drove both and while the DSG is objectively preferable from a performance standpoint, I just couldn’t do an automatic in this car.)

I’m a little late to the party since I’ve been away a couple days but a couple things -

- Soundacktor sucks - you can get your dealer (or use tool yourself if you have it) to turn it all the way off. SOOOO much better hearing all the little noises the car makes on its own.

- DCC is worth it no matter what people without
