Finally finally, it should be remarked that the presence of a DY may be a legal obligation insofar as not passing goes, but very often they are there for no apparent reason OTHER than that. (This goes both ways -I’ve seen plenty of marked passing zones where I sure wouldn’t pass, even on a bike.)

Finally, a side observation - I would say the motorcyclist’s main error in this situation was passing so closely. More room and he would have had time to react (swerve and/or pin it). I’m not sure if the motivation there was not being too far over seeing as it’s a DY or if maybe he was being a little aggressive…

Oh and I meant to add - note in this situation, if this guy did in fact douchily slow down (another common douche tactic), the motorcyclist was correct that this was not the type of twit to hang around near....
