None of this changes until Dems stop playing nice. The GOP can’t be reasoned with, they can’t be compromised with, they can’t be joined across the aisle with.

At the bare fucking minimum, hows about not rolling over and playing dead like Schumer did multiple times on judge appointments? Can we at least hope for that? 

When the GOP wins, they thank their voters, they declare themselves a mandate, they vow to ram all their objectives down the throat of the government, and they take no prisoners.

They need a speaker that will actually understand who they are working with, will not continue to be duped by GOP promises, and will fight everything tooth and nail like an actuall coordinated oppositions.

What would they be mad about? Not like the Dems will win anything of note here. Between racists really like racists, gerrymandering, suppression, and milllenials being asshats; the blue wave of 2018 will look about as accurate as 2016.

Great piece.  Only thing I’d offer is none of this fear mongering is simply Trump.  This is the GOP and has been for decades. 

Don’t forget that the last ad out of Trump in 2016 was the one filled with Anti-Semitic dog bullhorns. This is the playbook that he ran to victory in 2016. Are white people still going to fall for it?

If any of these suppression efforts that any of the GOP is pushing would happen at a country outside of the US, we’d call it a banana republic and push for envoys to be sent to monitor the elections or threaten the despotic and authoritarian governments.
