All I want is payload capacity. When I go pick up tile for a job, it can easily get into the 3k+ lb range. I don’t need my pickup all that often but when I do, it has to carry heavy stuff. I’ve maxed out the last two F150s and they held up admirably, but I am considering a superduty next time because I just don’t want

Either the $500M number came straight from the UAW, or this analyst used to work for the RIAA doing calculations on how much money illegal downloads were costing music labels.  One download=one lost sale.  One unbuilt car=one lost sale.  Both wrong.

The strike has cost GM output of more than 8,000 vehicles a day, according to analysts at IHS Markit. With each vehicle averaging about $8,000 in earnings before interest and taxes, and the walkout affecting nearly nine production days, GM has missed out on as much as $544 million in profit, based on calculations

Normally when someone tells me I won’t unsee something regarding a football player’s leg, I’m expecting an extra knee or backwards foot or something.

I can’t stand Trump or Pence, but it is in fact inaccurate to say that Mackinac Island is a “car free haven” (as one of the tweets stated) or to imply that there are no cars/trucks on the island. It’s also inaccurate for you to say that motorized vehicles are “used during season only for an emergency.” The garbage

Copy paste journalism. Mack do your due diligence please present an complete and accurate correction to your story.

Oh, don’t let facts interfere... they are letting their political fake news steam vent...

Fake news, Mackinac Island is not car free. Service vehicles are not banned from Mackinac Island and in fact the lead Ram 1500 is used by the Mackinac Island Police. There’s something like a dozen cars on the island for various uses and work vehicles are routinely brought to the island for repairs and other building

Also, I’d like to see one of those Chevy “real-life” customer commercials where tech’ed-up pickups are presented to a bunch of Houthis.

Oil prices jump immediately after the attacks once trading started, however prices dropped back down right after the Saudi’s said they would get production back in about 2-3 weeks.

First Gear: The state of Michigan is far too dependent on the auto industry.

If a union chooses to strike, good for them. I’m all for it.

Unions = Mostly good!

“But for the life of me I cannot understand why they’ve decided to slap on the Mustang-inspired marketing hype for their upcoming crossover EV. It really seems counterintuitive and liable to turn buyers away.”

Where are they getting the $4-5 gallon BS? I know California is there but what about the rest of the US? I paid $2.06 a gallon and I’m just 3 hours south of Detroit. And I doubt they that much more.

2nd Gear: The logical plan is to switch to a “distance x weight” formula of registration fees. This should get people paying for (very roughly) the amount of road that they use. Out of state travel will be a bit of a challenge to deal with, but it shouldn’t be too bad.

Michigan takes it to a whole ‘nother level with their Live Bottom asphalt haulers and tankers. Sometimes on exit ramps they will pick up their axles to make a turn and will stop at the light and if you’re next to them the drop axle wheels are still spinning in the air.

So, you plan on going on a cross country trip that often?

I say this as someone who loves driving across country and who drives from wisconsin to ohio and back once a month. I’d buy something like this and be pretty happy about it.

Just rent a car for the cross country trip.

Show me a car that can go across the country without stopping.

Similar reason why dump trucks have trailers with long-ass tongues: weight dispersion. A 2 lane bridge may have a 40 ton rating, so the truck and trailer can’t be on at the same time. Hence the 30 foot tongue.
