I think Irons is referring to Affleck's Batman movie, not Justice League.

Been obsessed with The Good Son lately; may have displaced Henry's Dream as my favorite Bad Seeds album. Every song is fucking gorgeous.

It's not baffling, it's rather obviously racist. There's no other way to even take it.

"I think I'm dark and tortured for reals now!"

Man, how beautiful is the irony that Ice King, the man whose tragedy has robbed him of any memory of his past, inadvertently invents Graybles, the term which Cuber uses to let the past live on in story. I'll never look at tables the same way either, Cuber.

Slightly disappointed that they didn't get Peter Serafinowicz back as Lumpy Space Prince, I would have loved to hear more of his hilariously over-the-top "Posh" voice. At least you can argue that his appearance here was authored by Ice King instead of LSP, so the difference in voices reflects the different

So, even in the face of tragedy, he will remain hip.

Yeah, classic Disney Alice is really good. Classic Disney Peter Pan, on the other hand, is wretched, and misses the point of its source material even more than Burton's drivel.

Lindsay Ellis pointed out something incredibly depressing during her review of The Host, which is that when a movie bombs, from the studio's perspective, the reason is never "The script sucked". They always pick up on some arbitrary aspect of the content and use that to continue being out-of-touch assholes; in the

I really, really hope this bombs; between that and the disaster of Pan, maybe Hollywood will be scared away from sucking everything interesting out of classic properties by trying to make everything a Y/A story for a while

No, it isn't, because variety is a nice thing. One or two consistently goofy and fun franchises against dozens of self-serious thriller franchises—even though they produce great movies—is still rather imbalanced.

I mean, obviously there's some (In fact, I'd put almost the whole MCU into this category), but there should be more.

I don't think there's any question that there are many fantastic Hollywood movies coming out that could be described as "Gritty"; the point is that some high-quality lighter fare would be nice to see more often as well.

Doesn't matter. All men are brothers until the day they die.

Of course! Short people are just the same as you and I!

Yeah, murder ballads in general are pretty much ruled out. Nick Cave would be like Chris Brown.

Or someone who thinks that John Lennon was a pretentious twat because of "Imagine", ha!

This reminds of that interview with a member of the AMPAS a few years aback who said they didn't vote for Whiplash for best picture because "It's a film about abuse." NO SHIT, REALLY?

And there's the other shoe. You continue to elude me, Mr. Fuller.

I'm with you on this one, Mr. Fuller. Which only leads me to be even more confounded by your whole deal in general, but I'll pick my battles sparingly.
