you spelled “Switch” wrong

Not sure if it’s your image or if you took it from the video, but that image under the video has the labels backwards

It’s simple, regardless of whatever crap Nintendo tries to piece together, there is no “Zelda Timeline”. It is not a thing. Each game is a re-imagining of previous games, just like Mario.

Actually.... it doesn’t. FF9 is the one classic Final Fantasy that’s aged the best. And that’s why it is the best.

Maybe, but I think that FF7 is the kind of game that got ruined by 3D. If only the characters in the overworld would have been 2D sprites, it would have looked gorgeous. Instead you’ve got those unrecognizable chubby polygon mess.

I never understood why FF7 gets so much praise. FF9 is better in every ways. It doesn’t even need a remake, it already looks amazing.

Not to mention Freya. And the entire rest of the cast.

I tend to prefer FFVI, but IX does have Beatrix...

He had voiced out about this years ago and his answer was the same. It’s good to see he still retains that opinion.

Sadly though, Sakaguchi is a bit on the overrated side. I know I’ll catch some flak for this but it’s true. He barely touched any of the games he worked on, with several years worth of testimonials of

As long as we agree that it is not VII, that is all that really matters.

The “literally everything else being basically perfect” portion of the game overcomes the ending for me. It comes out of nowhere and takes a left turn at the corner of 5th and Bananas for the last disc and a half or so, but cloning/Terra is no more nonsense than Jenova shenanigans.

I totally agree, because those are pretty good comparisons. My friend has talked my ear off about FF7 and OoT over the years.

FF7 is such an overrated game. Like Ocarina of Time, or the Beatles. Did amazing things for the genre/industry and helped push the medium into a new era and gets way too much credit for it’s actual quality because of that.

On one hand, yes, but on the other they’d add voices and that would completely ruin it.

Ditto.

It deserves a remake. I think I already own at least 4 versions of FF9.

FF9 and FF6 are definitely my favorites. I can’t wait for all the FF7 cool kids to get upset over this debate all over again.

Now playing

I feel deeply vindicated. FF9 ties with FF6 in my head for all time favorites in the series, but FF6 gets the proper amount of love while FF9 was largely ignored for a long time.

Oh, good, I was afraid I was going to have to tell the creator of FF that he was damn wrong, but turns out he’s damn right!
