Wait, left-handed people *aren't* evil?
Wait, left-handed people *aren't* evil?
Even if everything you say is true, it was still over long, over precious, filled with unbearable characters and perfunctory cartooning, all to the service of telling us how awesome his wife is. I don't doubt that his wife is awesome but if I were his wife and this was his opinion of me I'd probably start day drinking.
Yes to the bit about Desire, although obviously it was Desire who later manipulated the vortex in A DOLL'S HOUSE.
Didn't see our review of THE SCULPTOR, eh?
I like BC because it largely takes the focus away from what had become the characters' focus for the last couple decades - i.e. the seemingly endless focus on martial arts bullshit that I just have no tolerance for whatsoever. So many stories focused on who would win in a fight between Lady Shiva and Shado or who the…
OK, I was just making sure you weren't talking about Megan Fox and Shia Labeouf.
. . . *which* movie characters? Or rather, characters from which movie(s)?
I read the first couple issues and wanted every character in it to die a painful death, I can't describe it any better than that.
OK, since people seem to like the idea, here's my list. We each turned
in a list of twenty books for both categories - serials / miniseries and
graphic novel / archival editions. There was some overlap but the lists
were quit varied.
I hear you. I love it to bits.
Yeah, plus, the "real" New U Earth is still orbiting the Strnager's world, where it's been since the end of (ugh) Starblast. But yeah, they'd have to be in their fifties now, if the conceit still stands.
I suffer from a huge blindspot when it comes to most TRANSFORMERS media - I'm a Budiansky / Furman purist, although I've got a lot of love for Tom Scioli too. (Scioli is also the exception to my "Hama ONLY" policy in re: JOE, incidentally.)
Accept no substitutes: these guys are the fakes Hickman introduced in his Avengers run, not the Real Dead from the New U.
I don't necessarily buy it either, but it's supported by some of the stuff Al Ewing is doing in his AVENGERS books and CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS. So, if you're interested, that's where to look.
Would people be interested in seeing the longlists we submitted? I can't speak for anyone else but I wouldn't mind posting mine if anyone cared, since they post the ballots for some of the other lists.
TF vs GI JOE would have made my list if it had shipped more regularly - as it is, I think it made the list last year, and I (can't speak for anyone else) made a conscious decision not to nominate anything that had been on the list last year.
Speaking for myself, I dislike SAGA intensely and would never have nominated it. Can't speak for anyone else.
(The list is alphabetical.)
ASTRO CITY was on the list last year. Instead of nominating it again in 2015 I made the decision to nominate AUTUMNLANDS instead, which premiered this calendar year.
616-8 is the current label.
