They stopped doing it as much in the second and third seasons. I think that SNL skit with Andy Samberg as the 12 year old boy who thought up putting naked ladies into every scene was the tipping point.

They were calling that prostitute the Exposition Whore by the end of the season.

I think Scott Lynch should sue since that whole "let's all be actors and make fun of theater" bit is the basis of Republic of Thieves.

That's like the best bad review ever. I would pay you money to review my books in that way.

I think that the murder of a minor character puts it at least at a B+ with the whole "we're going to do a play based on a certain family with a couple of incestuous twins and a creepy midget brother" aspect to put it to at least an A-

Even better. The chapter starts out "Mercy was going to get raped and killed that night" - so yeah…that's fun. (actually the rest of the chapter is hilarious since it's basically Arya Stark being an actress who is starring in a play that is based on the shenigans happening in King's Landing - which includes a midget

Considering that it's competing with teh "you're brilliant/you're brilliant/no you're brilliant" 4th season and the Doctor Who=Tinkerbell 3rd seasons, that's very faint praise indeed.

Wait. I thought that AV Club was fighting with Cracked today.
