I think Americans have a "middle" problem. It's like the broad, amorphous blob that is the middle class.

Regardless of the wacky history of this review, "The Fourth Man" is one of my favorite black comedies. It's a great movie to subject people to to gauge humor compatibility.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate these breakdowns as a person very interested in British social and cultural history and lover of Python. It's very easy to think of Python sketches as these absurdist takes on universal experiences (advertising, bureaucracy, game shows, sporting culture, elitism, class,

I'm just glad they resisted the temptation to play the role themselves using pinched eyes and r-w conversions like in that unfortunate Queen Elizabeth I sketch on a later episode (or the Bicycle Tour). And yes, they're all very funny sketches.

Fair enough.

Of cunts?

Because it's actually a good short film about people dealing with having a hand in other people's deaths as well as the weighty consequences of poor, seemingly inconsequential choices?

Aside from the fact that his Bad Lieutenant was an awesome movie in his own right, that 666 just makes him cooler.

One of my favorite power trios of all time is the spastic grindcore band Disharmonic Orchestra. "Not to be Undimensional Conscious" is a landmark grind album with some of the funkiest bass lines allowed in the genre at the time (a couple youtube tracks below).

Earth motherfuckers.

What does that even mean? Every scene has the uniforms, the homogeneous sound, the close mindedness to other forms of music outside the scene, the elitism, the bullshit. Punks, goths and the rest are just as "conformist." I don't know many times I've seen punks categorically dismiss anything a little more complex than

Why should the show look bright and colorful? It's no set in Miami. This really is a bizarre line of criticism, especially since we're dealing with television, a medium that rarely has great cinematic art design or photography, and the show is set in a certain place and milieu that has a lot of earth tones.

Well we can't all be "Masters of Sex" (c) 2013

I've never had a need for movies to give me one consistent tone, and actually appreciate a willingness to upend audience expectations with tonal shifts. If the show didn't have the black comedy, I never would have gotten into it. I've always found the show to be a gallows comedy on some level.

The case against Breaking Bad? Well based on the prosecution's case, Breaking Bad is ruled not guilty, and the complainant is fined $200 for wasting the court's time.

I am the one who issues thumbs down reviews.

To paraphrase Roger Ebert, it's not what it's about, it's how it's about it

"So do you, Dr. Jones!" Panama Hat has the last laugh.

Besides, "Harlem Nights" and "A Rage in Harlem" are the relevant films to compare it (un)favorably to.
