Speaking as a Master Tech at an indy shop who has to work on BMW (thankfully, not our primary marque), these cars are nightmares. Mostly due to BMW levels of reliability coupled with at least a decade of insufficient maintenance.

Perhaps not so much of late, but back in the day every car crash in movies or on TV involved an explosion. Drove off a cliff? Explosion. (Occasionally in mid-air. FTW? WTF!?!) Drove into a wall? Explosion. Drove into a tree? Explosion. Crashed into another car? Explosion. Hit by lightning? Explosion. Slammed the door…

Arby’s doesn’t pay as well.  Similar to Mother GM in some locales, getting a well paying job out of school and staying local is the best some people hope for, and if the company rolls up shop and leaves, what’s left?
