I keep seeing articles questioning why the Xbox one X needs to exist, and why MS is pushing resolution. Here are some thoughts from Kirk Hamilton on why resolution matters:

Xbox One X: 25% higher price for 42% more power and 50% more RAM*

This sounds about right - except don’t you think producers would have to sign some shit understanding that given the “sensitive nature” blah blah...?

EA had the exclusive rights to Porsche for a few years. Porsche cars were paid DLC well after the initial release of a particular game because Turn 10 had to obtain a license for each game. They’re probably just highlighting the fact that the exclusivity deal is done.

The DBZ fighting game is actually pretty different from most of the rest: it’s a 2.5D 3 vs 3 game a la MvC3, and it’s being made by the people behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. What’s more, unlike Xenoverse it actually looks like the cartoon. I think it looks incredible.

A much more powerful console (6 TFlops versus 4.2 for the PS4) as well as 12 GB of DDR5 RAM vs 8 GB of DDR5 RAM for the Pro, and you are mad that Microsoft is charging more for the Xbox One X versus the Pro?

The Irony when everyone was praising sony for having a more powerful console. Now xbox does it and it’s a bad thing? At least it ain’t some half assed mid generation console with nothing to bring but upscaled 4k and not even UHD blu-ray.

Wut. The Xbox One S had a USB port on the front, the Xbox One had the port on the side near the front of the console, and the Xbox 360 had two ports on the front.

It kind of makes sense. If you think about it we shorten PlayStation 4 to PS4. So we shorten XBox One X to XBOX. It’s almost genius.
