Ohh just in terms of taste.

Ohh just in terms of taste.

What’s an usher?

Eh, I liked it. I rarely ever would give any show or segment an “A” but it was a solid 4 hours of inoffensive decent sports topics with 2 guys I didn’t dislike, that didn’t bore me to tears.

Better than the Son of Sam being angry...

Agree. When the team was competitive, not good, just competitive, fans packed the then-RBC Arena and it was so much fun. Then they went cheap and sold off anyone with any talent and were brutally bad because it was Eric Staal and a bunch of guys who couldn’t cut it in the AHL, let alone the big leagues.

How did Chicago do when they were a perennial bottom feeder? Diminished interest when teams struggle on the ice is not unique to non-traditional markets.

I’m pretty sure Carson and Letterman were 60 minute shows, which, efffectively really made them 45 minute shows. And I’m not entirely sure to what extent Letterman throwing watermelons off the roof of his building was cohesive with interviewing guests in a way that Fallon’s comedy bits aren’t.

thats true- but times have changed. those viral clips probably make more money on ads than the whole episode does on air

This all seems like a pretty fair response? We don’t have any evidence that he would even be good at doing some sort of political humor/commentary. Its hard for me to fault someone when all they’re saying is “look I just want to do my style of comedy” on their own show.

Vegas is given an expansion team to dilute the talent pool some more so the owners can line their pockets a little. It’s crazy.

Agreed, Arizona is a huge success in my eyes, and only because of Auston. That’s how you grow the game and 20 years of craziness is redeemed because the market is able to produce top notch talent. Along with ASU getting a team, it goes to show that the move to AZ has been a great success for hockey, but maybe not

Even the Coyotes are a success to some degree, probably the best American hockey prospect, Auston Matthews, is from Arizona and got into the game watching the Coyotes.

Yeah, Nashville’s been a good hockey town for a while now. The team has generally been good post-lockout making the playoffs most years. Helps that there is no NBA or MLB in town so focus is put on them for pro sports (I guess Titans too in the fall).

Given no one misses an opportunity to knock Bettman for his ‘Non-Traditional Markets’ gamble, it is only fair to point out that it has worked in a handful of places.

I was JUST thinking that when I was watching last week. I said to myself, “one of the things I loved about the show ‘ER’ was how integral the nurses were to the storyline and the medical cases.”

“No one can interweave the jeopardy firefighters face in the line of duty with the drama in their personal lives quite like Shonda,”

Haha, my dad is a surgeon and my step-mom is the head of nursing at our local hospital, this is the debate that is the crux of their lives. I hear about it all the time over dinner. (They’re probably also part of the reason I find hospitals to be interesting.)

Also, you’ll end up watching one episode because it was on and you were curious, and it’ll become your new Big Show.

As a former pro-wrestler, I feel compelled to chime in.

“...........headlock” is maybe the best thing Orton has ever done.
