hell yes. i’m from minnesota, so we were let in on the secret earlier than everyone else, but it’s sooooo awesome to see her blowing up now.

No worries, I didn’t take it as such, but it’s a good point that I feel the same about so I wanted to clarify that. High fives all around.
Sorry, I don’t mean that as “Explain this!”, just more being curious about the choice. I would guess there’s a reason for it and I wouldn’t mind learning more about it, but that’s all. As it’s so, erm, “titillating” (is that the right word?), I would have thought someone would have asked about it.
It is a great cover…
Not that I’m complaining, but I’ve never heard her explain her choice of album cover.
I just want to take this opportunity quick to say that “Shine On Me” by Dan Auerbach is a terrible, terrible song.
Still though, what the hell is that accent?
The whole album is devastating, but “Epilogue” is the one that kills me:
“But you return to me at night just when I think I may have fallen asleep/Your face is up against mine, and I’m too terrified to speak”
Be careful if you see a guy with that box hanging a bit lower...
Man, this album fucked me up for a good month or two after I started listening to it.
This only kind of fits with the question:
I’d been exposed to plenty of Beatles growing up, and could probably list of a few of their songs, but wasn’t really that into them. One day in my friend’s car though, she had Abbey Road playing. For reasons I still can’t explain, after hearing “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer”, I was…
I picked up some Yellow Magic Orchestra recently. Only gone through it a few times, but I liked it. Maybe I’ll pop some of that on today...
Not that I’ve been all that exposed, but has Sam Smith ever done anything that wasn’t dreadfully boring? The still from the video even somehow looks painfully dull.
“I want CANDY! Bubblegum and TAFFY!”
Great, well, that’s in my head all day now.
“spread his legs and be free”
ummmm...
I’ve got a thing for the teeny little ASMR machine.
Yes! Exactly this! I’ve had that same thought so many times.
While the wordplay and structure may not have lived up to past efforts, this is the first time I felt I was hearing about her instead of her just telling stories (love her other work, don’t get me wrong). To me, that’s depth.
Dirty Computer is lacking in lyrical depth? Kay...
How has no one mentioned The Beths down here? Hot damn that album is FANTASTIC.
I definitely think it’s her best, but not sure if my fav. What was yours?
