I think you make a very good point regarding the way American history whitewashes these events. Some of them I knew about, particularly Rosewood. Others, I’d only heard of or didn’t know the details. But I also think there’s a dimension to the 2013 definition that’s meaningful here. The authors specifically state that

These massacres don’t fit into the mass shooting category as you defined at the beginning of the article. These massacres had very definite targets. The “mass shootings” we’re talking about don’t have clearly defined targets and purposes.

It’s staggering to me, really, how, after decades of realizing how the effects of a nuclear exchange are considered so terrifying, it was almost inconceivable to think it would actually happen, we’ve gotten to the point where many of our fellow citizens are actually okay with the prospect, so long as we win, of

Jason Isaacs is so great. I knew he would be a great addition to this franchise and he did not disappoint. He’s perfect at conveying all the enigmatic menace of Lorca.

I like the roomate - she brings out a softer side, which does a lot for Burnham’s character.

This is a pretty different Star Trek from what we’ve gotten

Discovery increasingly feels like it takes place specifically in the world of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, with the crazy science experiments, more militarized Starfleet, scientists who look down on Starfleet as a military org, etc.

There are plenty of white women involved, but it’s an MRA-connected thing, for sure. “Men reclaiming their power through circlejerks” or some fucking bullshit. The women just bleat and bray on facebook and twitter. They’re not allowed to hold torches.

None of those men were/are cops. They’re all nazis dressed in their surplus store duds.

The anonymity of the internet makes that very difficult, while putting out accusations against random people is extremely easy. As I said, I’m not against naming and shaming Nazis, but please be extremely careful with the sources and do not share anything that is not thoroughly confirmed. This could backfire. We need

When they go back to work on Monday, they will talk about this weekend with the same fervor they would about a bungee jumping or white water rafting trip. The thrill and energy of coming together, maybe getting a little pepper spray, standing up to cops and absolutely nothing happening to them at all that could

No, let’s be honest. A real president with a real cabinet and real advisors would know how to handle the situation.

Yes, you are technically correct. However, there is debate on weather dogs are really carnivores or omnivores due to their diet in the wild consisting mainly of meat.  I guess what I meant was this. How many wolves, coyotes, and foxes do you think are out there eating many plants? You ever look at a dog’s teeth?

There are plenty of vegetarian/vegan pets to choose from, no need to force your beliefs and compromise the health of omnivore and carnivore pets. It’s really incredibly irresponsible, cruel and selfish which just reinforces what people already feel about organizations like PETA and most vegans.

Not really. They’re carnivores with tolerance to plant based foods. A plant based diet for a dog is made for the convenience of their owner, not the dog. A polar bear can eat plants too, but it’s survival, not nutrition.

I live in a vegetarian / vegan haven. We even have multiple alterna pet stores that sell vegetarian dog and cat food to those who feel driven to feed their pets a diet their evolutionary history has not prepared them for (and yes, I get it that with specific health issues, a dog might need to be vegetarian for health

I’m a vegetarian human. the answer is no. it is not right for dogs. that said, you could definitely add some veggies for health (supposedly wolves and other carnivores eat the stomachs of their kills first...which have semi-digested vegetal matter). would the dog survive on just bread and beans ... probably. but

I thought uBlock was the new thing since ABP supposedly allows filter-bypassing if they get paid.

ABP + Ghostery + Tampermonkey = More effective than Freedom

Back in April, my best buddy of 30 years died suddenly. We both rode bikes (Harleys) and just hung out together. We were like brothers and Brothers (if you ride you understand the second use of the word). We taught each other and looked out for each other. We were always there for each other day or night either via

Sometimes your friend may be someone you work with. In that case it might be possible for you to say, “Don’t worry about this meeting/deadline/appointment/responsibility—I’ll take care of it for you.”
