You’re not the only one, I thought it made sense as far as story and characters go. It’s just that it was rushed, along with the rest of the season.

Obviously I didn’t mean every single little detail and side character, but the main story beats and main characters ended up where GRRM also planned them to end up, they were pretty open about this. After GoT ended and the reactions were mostly negative, GRRM was really obviously scrambling to announce that uh,

I feel the dream at the end is a clear way for Martin to say “hey, the ending to that show isn’t what I wanted”.

No, you’re not, I also noticed that the cinematography was a huge step down from GoT, also the CGI being a lot more obvious/distracting. I don’t know if it’s a smaller budget or a different team having a different vision, but I hope the visuals will improve.

You’re absolutely correct. Also, I’d like to add that streaming providers are also just beginning to notice the limits and drawbacks of the binge model of releasing an entire show/season all at once. Yes, it was a big deal way back when it was a new thing to be able to just sit down and watch an entire show in a day

it was a fight of a human need vs the pandemic

It’s not supposed to work, it’s only an excuse, people telling it to reassure themselves that it’s no problem if they stop caring about precautions “only for a little while” because if it’s only for a little while it surely doesn’t matter much. Kind of like the 3-second rule. But also, unfortunately a lot of people

What they have done, ie. standing behind their BIPOC actors of color, and continuing to cast BIPOC actors in major roles, is about the extend of what I think they can do to “take responsibility”.

Don’t worry, you’re not exporting it. Countries are perfectly able to come up with shitty things on their own, without the US being involved.

People express gratitude for having a healthy family all the time, but it’s only when he says it that people decide it’s an issue.

Additionally, he tweeted about how much he loves his current wife—the most damning part is how we specifically says he’s so thankful that she gave him a “healthy child.” This might be so bad, were it not for the context that he and Anna Faris had a child, but with physical disabilities.

NATO =/= US. NATO = NATO. The US may be a key member, but it’s not the only member.

Aww yeah, can’t wait! At this point I have the same relationship with Westworld as with Raised by Wolves: are the shows deeply flawed? Sure! Do I care? Not one bit! I’m totally along the crazy ride, wherever it takes.

Dude, shit’s gonna happen to us way before it’ll happen to you, if at all. Because, y’know, we’re here and you’re over fucking there, making us way quicker and easier targets that the US is not going to want to go to actual war to defend. If things ver come to that the US will leave us hanging just like it did before,

I love seeing Americans being overly dramatic about this and wallowing in “oh no, it’s the apocalypse!” while sitting literally a continent and an ocean away from the conflict, protected by the strongest military and one of the strongest economies in the world.

Yes, I’d bet money that the TV show actually ended on the exact same notes GRRM was planning to end the story, perhaps not the exact same way GRRM envisioned it, but it was supposed to be the same notes. But GRRM was also really salty that the show passed the books and went on without, instead of waiting for him - in

Same here. I’m not using Twitter for the community, and I’m not really interested in any community option. I’m using it to keep up with people (mostly visual artists) whose works I’m interested in. And they don’t form a single community, they’re from all over the world.

Sure, people are leaving Facebook and Twitter, but not in droves like they keep swearing every time something happens. Same with Twitter, a lot of people are now being all “THAT’S IT, I’M LEAVING”, some of them may even sign up to Mastodon or other services, but most of them don’t actually leave Twitter because let’s

Yeah, honestly, I think people are overreacting. Elon Musk is running his mouth as he tends to, but at the end of the day that’s just what he’s going to do. Eventually he’ll have to realize that, like the hyperloop or self-driving cars, some things that may sound awesome (for him, anyway) won’t really work as intended
