That’s simply not true. Federal vs private student loans. Until his legislation in 2005 private student loan debt had bankruptcy protections. A lot of that student loan debt is high interest private student loans.

It doesn’t play with Joe. Joe Biden personally does not agree with student debt relief. He is personally responsible for making it so that student debt cannot be discharged through bankruptcy.

He’s been consistent that he doesn’t want to discharge student debt. He made it so it can’t be discharged through bankruptcy. He said he supported legislation for student debt relief, solely because he knew it wouldn’t pass. He just wanted votes. The Senator from MBNA doesn’t care about our debt.
