I agree. The way I see it (*my* opinion, if I may) most games, western or japanese, do suck. Seems like there's a conveyor belt that's constantly churning out new titles that have no quality to them.

Problem is, you can't trust critic scores either, at all. What I do is read the user neutral positives and negatives, and try to see if I could find something that interests me within the game.

Completely agree. So many examples to quote, but it's too late and I'm sleepy. And your comment pretty much hits the nail on the head, I don't think there's much else I could add that wouldn't be repetition. Reviews lost my respect a long time ago, right about the time I canceled my game magazine subscriptions.

Well here's the thing. A couple of years ago, when he started stating his opinion on video games (leading up to his composition hypothesizing that "games are not art" ), I disagreed with him wholeheartedly. I had been moved by so many games, and the quality of the titles I played, were witnesses that (some) games

I will forever wonder how or why the second installment had a bigger audience *And* more acclaim. Well, as far as critical acclaim, that doesn't really mean anything though (case in point: mostly every single review praising Dragon Age II as a great game, or how FFXIII was given great reviews when it was released,

If it is at all similar to my experience with Lost... then yeah, I'm glad to pass. I don't think I could take the nerdrage attack I'd have...again.

Crap! I'm at work and the video isn't loading for me. Dying to watch it. :O . If it has the "Shinta seal of approval" i'm inclined to think it's pretty badass. *refresh refresh refresh* nope, doesn't load. >_<. Will have to wait till later.

The difference being, of course, whether those bills or "suggestions" actually come to fruition or not. We'll see.

Sadly because i'm one of those, I won't be getting the third game. Not for now, anyway. So... Can't help there either.

I really wanted to "get the urge" to buy a Wii. I really did. And I really wish I could play Xenoblade and The Last Story. But when my buddy brought his Wii home, and hooked it up to my 52" LCD.... the results were horrid.

I hear ya. For me it was how expansive the universe felt, and the plot twists that did it. =/ . Sadly. I found none of that with ME2.

Link goes to a "this is a private video" page. =/

I haven't tried playing those NIS games; they just seem like they're not my cup of tea at all.

I stand similar on both games. Loved Dragon Age: Origins. Words can't express my hatred for Dragon Age II. Loved Mass Effect One, didn't care a hoot for Mass Effect 2, and am not really looking forward to ME3 =/ . I say this, with a heavy heart *frown*

And so long as the western media keeps bashing the JRPG genre's face in, it looks like we might be SOL sooner than later.

I'm just tired of people saying they're tired of JRPG's in general. Even though there apparently still is a market out there for them. Sadly, right now it's pretty much restricted to handhelds and the occasional console title.

I guess you would have to be a victim, for most of your life (specially during those early and oh-so-important formative years) to understand my logic. It is not my "opinion" that religious entities target specific communities and label them as "abhorrent" and "evil". It is a well-documented fact.

So we owe "religious people" some respect, but they get a "free out of jail" card as far as that goes? why should I respect community that files anything but their own beliefs under "evil" or "the devil's realm"? Hasn't religion done enough harm throughout history already? Nah. They shouldn't get that card.

While I am totally biased because 1. I'm gay and 2. I think Anders is actually the *only* thing that you could isolate in DAII as being remotely interesting, I think your description of Anders as a "flaming fruitcake" is quite an exaggeration.

Agreed as far as Mass Effect 2 and DA2 are concerned. Sigh. Electronic Arts = everything that's wrong with gaming today.
