it’s not weird. it’s 3 really logical things put together:

OTOH, most were well-contested by some of the best defenders in the NBA (Green, Iguodala, Klay). The Rockets missed a handful they 100% should’ve made; the rest were far from gimmes.

I’m a Rockets fan, but I always found it incredulous when the Rockets and other basketbloggers talked about having a plan “to destroy a team with four hall of famers” that didn’t involve having five or more hall of famers...

Don’t forget about obligatory “dumpster fire.”

It’s weird that the whole season everyone’s been saying “The Rockets were built to destroy the Warriors,” and then they finally get their western conference matchup, and their big plan is... tire out Stephen Curry

In real life, warriors can’t do much against a group of rockets. For details, please read my screenplay.

Here are the first 5 words of my post:

more obnoxious than the stupid Harden “cooking” routine??

OK, but even if Steph retires this summer, he’ll probably have as many rings as LeBron, plus two MVPs and every meaningful three-point record there is...and he will have evolved the entire game based on his style of play. It’s not like he hasn’t already had plenty of “staying power.”

He has a slight frame and a history of ankle issues, so there’s that. But he’s at least arguably the greatest 3 point shooter in NBA history, and that skill seems like it will age well.

Don’t forget all the times Davidson have been back to the Elite Eight.

In retrospect, it’s going to be weird that the two players who will be remembered for most altering the way the entire league plays (not that these are the two best players to have played, but that they fundamentally changed how the game is/will be played for a generation) are Kareem and Curry.

That was not “hating the way they play”. I think you misinterpreted the word “infuriating”. There is nothing in that post that says the Warriors “way of playing” is hated by that poster. The post was mostly about disliking Steph’s “shimmy”, and being infuriated when he goes into “can’t miss mode”. That’s not an actual

Again, I think you’re misunderstanding his meaning. I interpreted it as just saying he doesn’t think Steph has too many more years of playing at this level left in him. Not that no one will remember his career.

The Warriors were that bad team when he got drafted. He won 2 mvps without Durant. I suppose you mean if he was on the Knicks then he wouldn’t be relevant

So if he has 12 seasons of top-level play, five championships, and will have forever changed the landscape of the NBA...that’s not very good?

You’re right. The Warriors were a historical powerhouse before he got there. What NBA fan hasn’t stayed up at night, reminiscing over Bob Sura, Andris Biedrins, and Ronny Turiaf?

“...but he couldn’t go to some crap team and still be as good.”

I think he just meant he’s not going to have 15+ seasons of top-level play.

I guarantee this commenter thinks Chris Paul is better and will let you know what “pure point guard” means if you ask nicely enough.
