Fair enough. one criticism “and the OLD Spielberg at the helm” very interesting choice of words. I don’t know if you have seen interviews with Spielberg RE crystal skull but he literally goes I thought it was a stupid idea but George talked me into it ( with regards to aliens in Indy 4). I think getting Spielberg

Harrison Ford can’t run around and jump the way he used to...Haha! I haven’t seen the Indy movies recently to be fair but he always struck me as a Bond like Character, someone who could go on many adventures and always be awesome but that you might have to rotate actors through the role so as to continue this idea of

Plenty of people base their real religion on sermons. I will totally admit watching Star Wars is far better than going to Church ( something I no longer have to do thankfully).

“Beyond having too much Vader in him” this is what frustrates me no human characterizes their problems this way this way. Yeah we didn’t need an explanation for Vader because he was a fully formed adult and Ep4 he shows no conflict so their is no need to explain it. Han for me is a better example, we don’t know

Not Leia and Han, Kylo and Han. There’s clearly something between Kylo and his parents. At the very least based on his childish character shouldn’t he want to blame his father or really open up to his father before his anger boils over and kills Han?

That seems to be hand waved as Snoke spotting someone with incredible force potential and manipulating both Kylo and a broken remnant of the empire. My question is how is there no meaningful dialogue with Han apologizing to Kylo, so as to explain what it is that beyond teenage angst that led to Kylo’s turn. There’s no

No I’m not a Father. Even having never having fathered a child, I find it hard to fathom that in the intervening years he completely gave up on his son.

Yeah but you wouldn’t give a guy a gun who would fail a psychological test from across the room. Look at the difference between Kylo and Vader. Insanity versus Controlled violence. It just made think he would be the next fort hood shooter. Why is Snoke so invested in this guy? Force potential? If he’s not ready why

He’s frequently a pessimist, Luke wants to go save Leia and Han is suddenly perfectly happy to stay and wait for Obi Wan. His reaction when Luke wants him to stay and fight for the Rebels is there’s no chance of success (ala Finn when he arrives at the resistance). That comment you site from Han always struck me as

Well he literally strangles a guy (he survives but with the behavior Kylo demonstrates, you think they would shrug their shoulders and go he hasn’t killed anyone yet no problem?). Organizing for someone to be executed is different to having lost your mind. Sure Hitler or Stalin might be examples of unstable

Right but Han and Luke are different characters pessimist versus optimist. All it takes for Han to change from giving up on his son to putting his life in his hands is Leia saying there’s still good in him. I get he’s seen evidence of the force and obvious parallels with Vader and Luke. Han knows his son is unstable

He’s still shown to be in a leadership position in the first scene, which is hard to believe given his tantrums later on. I know Stars Wars isn’t real but seriously what military would put up with an individual who clearly could go on a rampage and kill his own troops at any moment.

The lack of chemistry I just took as two people whose relationship broke down after losing their kid. They haven’t met in ages and presumably didn’t split without some friction and pain.

That’s such a good example because I was immediately like well it’s not like they fly the same ship... oh wait. Well it’s not like Kirk ever shows up in Picard’s era... Oh Fuck it.

A comparison between Kirk/Spock and Picard/Riker. Touche.

Because he can train both? There is a running theory that she picks up lot of force abilities quickly not because of poor writing but because at young age she received some training from Luke.

Ewwww!

Seems simple to me. Dead planet, can’t grow your own food. Someone has a monopoly on food coming into the planet. The poor scavenge and barter for the food.

Yeah instead she’ll live a crappy life on a dead planet.

Lets play a game:
