The not having children is a prequel thing. There’s no reason why Luke would need to adhere to it (it never made sense in the first place).

I think they are implying that Leia and Obi Wan have come into contact before Luke first meets him. “Ben” says he hasn’t gone by Obi Wan in a long time so it is odd that the message she records on R2-D2 is to Obi but ,as you say, she says Ben when Luke first meets her.

Part of the force vision shows the knights of Ren in a downpour. I don’t think it rains very often on Jakku... That said it would make more sense than Her being Luke’s Daughter.

In regards to point two I think your stretching. Leia specifically sends R2D2 to Obi Wan (“you my only hope”) in ANH. She knows of him before we see them meet and he sacrifices his life to help them get off the Death Star (though I don’t fully understand why this was necessary).

This would annoy me. If as seems likely she is his daughter, why in the hell would he leave her with out someone to care for her? I don’t want them to copy any more from the previous movies but there’s a reason Owen and his wife are in the orignal.

I can see that the writers were setting up Kylo Ren as redeemable but the scene where he kills Han (which I thought was poorly done) seemed to be an attempt to solidify his turn to the Dark side.

I think your missing something there. Poe is what Solo always trys to project himself as. The masterful pilot, with endless confidence and complete control of the situation. Watch A New Hope again. Solo’s selfish, scared and frequently screws up.

If I could give you multiple stars I would. I’m surprised how more people aren’t mentioning this? The whole reason Harrison Ford wanted Han to die originally was supposedly for the emotional impact. If the characters don’t care why do we? BB-88 thinking Poe was dead, was more emotional.

Yeah it’s not just that someone dumped her on Jakku, it’s that they seem to have left her without the surrogate parents (Owen and his wife). I don’t know how they would explain this without making whoever dumped her, look like a horrible person(s).
