If nothing else EVs are bringing back rear wheel drive as the default option for cars. A new golden age of understeer dawns!

Criticizing? No, I am joining in discussion with you. And I find it interesting that in typical GM fashion they offered something sorta cool but crapped on it with bean counting only to later make it better just to kill it. But since you want to be a smart ass, I WILL criticize you.

Sorry, I overreacted when I saw everything on the front subframe. Apparently I could not read.

Hey hey hey no need to start calling people names. It all gets a little derivative after all.

It’s rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive!

having actually driven the EV6, I clearly have driven too many “slow” or “normal” cars because when I punched it it didn’t feel like it pushed me back in my seat - it felt like it was trying to toss me into the back seat it pulled so hard. That was from a rolling 5-10 miles an hour. It may just be I’m not used to EV’s

New cars are just too good.

And there She is. What will be my first electric car. I LOVE our Telluride and this looks like another win.

Im very interested in this vehicle, thanks for the write up. I think this would still be eligible for the 7500 rebate from the Feds on top of whatever one might be abel to get from state authorities. Could bring the cost of this into the mid 30s which isnt bad at all by current standards.

It will depends on how “outdoors” you are talking about. The parking lots at Lake Tahoe, Whistler, Stowe and Vail are chock full of AWD Teslas, and with the right tires, they are a joy to drive in the snow. They do fine on gravel as well, and I see plenty of them at trail heads.

I get that a lot of remote campsites are far from charging infrastructure, but the average “active” Subaru buyer is much more likely to be pretty close to civilization when they embrace that active lifestyle. If, like the Ioniq 5 and many other upcoming EVs, it can provide power for the campsite, then a lot of people

Miss the good old days.

Somehow it still will be underpowered relative to its peers.  It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

The SSR is a truck that doesn’t deserve the hate it gets. Where else are you going to find a small RWD, single cab truck with a V8 and a 6 speed stick? I would drive one any day. However, I don’t see myself spending $36k on a fun car. I think I would gladly pay less for a worse example.

You are being extremely short sited then.

AMG. Multiple owners. Out of warranty.

This car stickered around $100K. With 80% depreciation, and 100K miles, looks like a good deal to me. I’d rather have this than a depreciated Bentley, Land Rover or Jag. Or Caddy.  It’s a pretty nice car, and you can DD it.  Just plan on dropping 10-20K into it over the next 30Kmiles.  That’s much less loss than if

did merc look at the vw cc and go we want in on that action?”

I’ll bite at around $20k. Maybe try to negotiate them down a bit.

Now, the C in the CLS’s name shouldn’t be allowed to fool you. ... The car is not based on the C-class platform, but on that of the larger E-class.
