That’s hard to say, since there are, like, three different hybrid drivetrains on this platform (“conventional hybrid” and PHEV drivetrains for the Escape and PHEV for the Lincoln Corsair)

This framing is going to stick in my head for a LOOOONG time

Yeah, I’d count the T-bird revival, though I really wish Ford had found the budget to give it a distinctive dashboard, at least. But I’d consider a decent used one, for sure.

Niiiiice!

Come on, David, putting a large, long-hooded truck at this attitude severely restricts visibility right in front of the vehicle.

Is there something wrong with me that I just fucking love all these failed 2-seat cruisers? The TC was Chrysler’s entry, but Cadillac had the Allante and the XLR, and Buick had the Reatta. It’s a wonder Ford didn’t attempt some kind of Lincoln-Mercury thing (no, the Aussie Capri reboot doesn’t count)

I get the skepticism. Maybe the most newsworthy element here is that one of the world’s largest airlines is ready to go public with a declaration that they’re backing an SST. Presumably United values their own credibility to the point that they have a reasonable expectation this is going to work.

Can’t disagree

I kinda sympathize with people who worry about bastardizing classics, but I think EV conversions are especially suited to luxury cars. The engineers would have given their eye teeth for such a refined drivetrain.

Soooo... Boom has set a target of 2025 to have a plane in the air. Let’s see if they make that. Maybe they will?

I’ve made my peace with the inexorable takeover of the market by small crossovers. This one’s... okay, I guess. I just wish Toyota would get more adventurous with this stuff. Like, maybe an AWD C-HR with about 50 more hp?

It’s a beautiful ship. I remember touring it in the ‘80s and having a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. Great experience, and as “tourist traps” go it was one of the better ones.

As unfortunate as the hail damage is (and the shipping cost for a windshield from Europe), I’m going NP on this. The seller likely spent more than $2,500 just certifying it.

I’ve always viewed NP/ND as “is this a fair price for the listing?”, not “would I buy it?”

You really are allowed to vote NP even if you don’t actually want it yourself. I think that’s kind of the point.

I don’t know that this exact combo of color/blingy wheels does it for me, but I’ve always loved 928s and this looks remarkably solid for the price. Definite NP.

“There’s no fuel like an old fuel...”

So much no.

According to the last numbers I saw, carbon-based generation in Europe is now officially in the minority with the bulk now coming from a combo of renewables and nuclear.

The impression I get from everything I’ve covered so far is that the base XLT also comes with the landscape screen (though the mega-tablet can be had on the XLT in an option package)
