The reason they needed MCAS to begin with was because they used a new engine and nacelle design that moved the engines 10 feet forward of the center of lift, so the plane would be naturally more prone to stalling, hence the need for software to assist. Boeing sold MCAS as an an aid that wouldn’t require retraining

There are the hybrid/PHEV Porsches to draw some data from, and the Audis use many common components, so they have that data to draw from too.

I dig the GT in general, right down to the spaceship-esque interior, and this one looks fabulous in red. The pedigree of having the designer as the original owner should ensure this one goes for some big bucks.

This is a worthwhile purchase for someone who lives in a city with a lot of film work. It will be great to lease to period film productions (we’ll ignore, for the moment, how discouraging it is that they now make “period films” set in times I actually lived through).

Oh, I think it’s great! The idea of 240hp in a Vanagon is nuts! I’ve always liked the Vanagon, myself, and this would be a blast as a highway cruiser. But $23k is just too damn much, no matter how fine the execution looks.

Yeah, that’s about where I am. I kinda dig this thing, but not $23k worth.

Posting it to his own social media accounts is kind of a tell.

My comment stands. No, you can’t rely on that range estimate, especially if you’re taking a route with a lot of uphill grades. Had Brad shown more caution (ESPECIALLY with his limited EV experience) he wouldn’t have had any problem at all.

The bike wasn’t the problem. The rider misjudged his range to the first charger and the problems cascaded from there.

I think Genesis is breaking out of that a bit. The new ones are handsome (or at least distinctive) enough that people will buy them just for the looks.

You know, I like this car. Always liked the idea of a small, sporty semi-lux coupe, and this one looks to be in really nice shape, all things considered. If Caddy had done a Cimarron coupe like this (maybe even a convertible!) it might have redeemed the brand.

If I were a BMW salesman I would make sure that tape stayed on the cover so my customer could remove it when I turned the car over to him. It would make a great part of the ceremony.

I’ll 2nd this. Yes, they’re fun to drive, they’re super-cheap to fuel and fix, and they’re amazingly useful.

Yeah, there’s a lot of time and care here. And the car itself is in VERY good shape (just parting it out would likely net some good $$$)

This is nice. Like the update and it doesn’t seem to really change the character of the car aside from some welcome refinement. And honestly, 228hp sounds just peachy.

I wouldn’t say Kinect was a “solution looking for a problem”. Microsoft had a pretty interesting vision for it.

Do not pee in a public shower while others are present.

Maybe I’m getting old but I’m WAY more interested in the PHEV than I am in this. And it performs at just about the same level.

Great. Take that approach and nobody’s ever going to do anything new. Sometimes “new” is actually good. And I’m tired of shit getting focus-group’d to death.

Don’t like it? Don’t buy it.
