I like Lincoln’s lineup right now, but Cadillac is moving in the wrong direction (even the new Escalade looks pretty generic). I love the design language on these and wish they were looking at a PHEV.

This was actually a more expensive car than the Town Car at the time. It was higher in the lineup. They built fewer to begin with and there’s fewer still left around.

If nothing else this has the potential to lease out as a movie car. NP.

I remember when these were introduced and I just wanted them so bad.

Look at it this way: Aston Martin is WAY too small to do the R&D to produce their own EV. So they pay Tesla, say, the equivalent of $10k a car, which they then pass on to their high-end clientele.

Sure, it should be worth something. And if you live in a jurisdiction with a Carbon Tax, it is.

There’s a lot of cities that have done exactly that. Not necessarily for tiny vehicles so much as to ban (or heavily tax) ICE ones. Yes, if you had to travel around the core of London, say, this could be useful.

I’ll listen to this guy’s voice all day over DeMuro’s

Yeah, I caught his little tribute to Torch’s Changli!

I think there’s a niche for a car a little better than this, but commuting isn’t going to be it. That short wheelbase guarantees that no matter HOW well you make the rest of the car it’s going to pitch unacceptably (even dangerously) over heaves at highway speeds.

It’s a part originally designed for a foreign model. No, it doesn’t count.

From everything I’ve seen Rivian has done everything right. No big letdowns and their business plan has always seemed eminently realistic. I’m glad Ford is partnering with them.

Classic’s fun. Got a few friends and we hang out on Discord and help each other out on quests. Socially distant socializing.

Rivian is in pre-production now and committing to June, 2021 delivery

I like it more than the Rivian or the Cybertruck. Seems pretty capable and the styling alone will sway some. Also like the interior.

It won’t be, though. Ford and Rivian look to be making it first.

I agree that the lapses are alarming and I don’t think they should really be allowed to operate without safety drivers yet.

This vintage Dart kind of flies under the radar but this was a solid car in its day. And Chrysler had this great “golden age” of design from about ‘68 to ‘74 that this car is a prime example of (full disclosure, I used to own a pristine ‘71 300 4-dr hardtop that I deeply regret losing).

The marketing here is fascinating. Nobody really makes anything like this now (though arguably the new Jeep PHEV moves into this space a little).

On top of this, even an EV powered by 100% coal-fired electricity still has a lower carbon footprint in operation because of higher thermodynamic efficiency and regenerative braking.
