Voted early to avoid the rush. Brought two forms of ID because I’m paranoid about being disenfranchised. State trooper gave me a hairy eye for no reason but otherwise it went without a hitch. Bought myself a froo-froo coffee drink afterward to celebrate. Now I’m going to go home and sleep!  

Sweet potato pie is so much better and more toothsome than pumpkin, I’m telling you. I never got a chance to get Patti LaBelle’s pies (not for the lack of trying!!) but homemade sweet potato pie is amazing.

I think hypocrisy is not an unfamiliar notion for a lot of so-called family values people. See: evangelicals lining up to support Trump despite him being the most profane politician to run for president for a long time (possibly ever).

This made me physically sick when I saw it yesterday on Twitter. A free press is essential to democracy — the Founding Fathers understood that (even the ones like Jefferson who got savaged by the newspapers at the time.) Why can’t people living in 2016 understand that too?
