I accept diesel engines as needed for large equipment and trucks.

Now make them do a recall to fix every engine with the defeat device in place. Also make it impossible to license any vehicle for on road use if the recall isn’t addressed within 6 months. I realize state based licensing makes the second have of my proposal impossible.

There’s some awesome stuff in there for sure, but strangely I mostly want the weird 1958 Fiat with no body, a lawn chair for the driver, and a sofa in the back.

Odometer replacement isn’t uncommon on 928s, but those lights are weird. I grew up around a 928 so I don’t think they look funny at all, to me it’s one of the best looking cars ever made. The normal pop-ups make it look like a weird RX-7 clone, though the side view does look ok and the last image is giving me Ferrari

Or John Wick, but no one in the real world has his main advantage: Hollywood plot armor.

Which is why the spread of “constitutional carry” pisses me off. The CCW class I had spent a significant amount of time going over the legal aspects of carrying a firearm and the instructor went into different situations where people often think they’ll be on the right side of the law, but will often land their ass in

A dealer needed extra money for paint protection, I told him I was not going to buy a car with paint that needed protection because that was a quality issue. The issue never came up again.

a few years ago in old towne arvada, co, a gun nut intentionally targeted and murdered a cop, a genuine good Samaritan who was nearby came out of the store he was in and shot the cop killer dead, then a second cop came on the scene and instantly shot dead the good Samaritan.

As covered in the ‘timeout’ section of my scenario, what are the police to do? Ask ‘Hey which of you guys is the good guy?’ Do I need to post the picture of the 3 Spiderman (men?) pointing at each other. Because I will if needed.

Clearly you wait for the police at that point so they can figure out who is the good guy with the gun. All the cops I’ve met love the idea of rolling up on a bunch of good people with guns because it makes us all, and them, so much safer.

People driving distances requiring hotel stays likely just charges on their way there. While I do prefer to charge for free if a hotel offers it, hotels indeed generally don’t have enough chargers, so you have to go to the local charging station for 15 minutes or so.

Building codes need to evolve to require chargers. A few years Boston started requiring 25% of parking spaces have EV chargers and 100% be EV-ready (meaning conduits, electrical capacity). This requirement is even higher than California.

The other problem is a lot of high mileage drivers drive to places or through places with bad or no charging infrastructure. I know, I am one of them. I don’t always drive a lot but when I do it is usually a lot not a lot of time. And also, those people are usually staying at random hotel with no chargers.

I have a question for proponents of the ‘good guy with a gun theory’...Say you are the ‘good guy with a gun’. You roll up on some scene with someone shooting. Assuming this is a ‘bad guy’ (which maybe incorrect...see below), you pull out your gun to engage the person, but then another guy shows up with a gun. First,

Wanna know a secret? Even engineers don’t need this stuff.

Curse you for making think and learn today!  Now you’ve got me on Wikipedia learning things like Charle’s Law, Boyle’s Law, and other shit I need to know but will never use.

The CONFUCIUS act is pure gold.

It’s DC - every new Bill or Regulation has a name to build awareness and advocacy, hopefully:

I love that it’s called “CARS.
