If you don't have to worry about it catching fire during everyday operation, then it's not a supercar, LOL

Oh wow! Of course I can only go from my experiences as well. I used to work at Carmax and sometimes we'd get folks that only wanted their car worked on at the "Name brand" dealer. So they service writers would have the car taken to said dealer basically as a sublet and would ask for all charges to be provided ahead of…
My bad. I didn't realize you were actually comparing tuners to automakers. Will read more carefully next time.
We're definitely on the same page here! I imagine this can be compounded with lack of personal transportation or insufficient public transportation systems as well.
Carmax won't usually allow you to take the car for a pre-purchase inspection. However, you get a 5 day return policy which should give you enough time to park it at the BMW dealer for a check-up. However, I would suggest if you are trading in a car, don't include your trade in in the transaction if you are doing the…
If only the NSX Type-R had ever been available in the U.S....
I'm a bit surprised they took care of the cosmetic stuff. That can be hit or miss and of course, it's not typically covered by MaxCare, but more likely your 30 day warranty after purchase.
Just a guess, but from my experience service consultants at the luxury brands handle things differently from consultants at your everyday brand dealers. Also, as Doug mentions below, many service consultants are scared of the fight they may get from warranty companies. Although Carmax warranties, being essentially…
Thanks for that! Such a sad situation that has caused. I wonder what it would take to get that stricken from existence?
That stinks! It gets even worse in a lot of low socioeconomic urban areas where they are labeled food deserts. You can't find fresh food because the grocery companies don't believe it will be profitable to put a store anywhere near the location. So convenience stores (that charge mightily for their convenience) and…
Yeah, kind of feel like the xB 2 was an answer to a question no one asked. Let's take this hugely popular box with a great following and make it bigger and less fuel efficient in the process. I would have bought one in the original style. The 2nd generation just rubbed me the wrong way altogether.
I'm not impressed. Toyota may get their clocks cleaned by the GM twins, if people weren't so afraid of GM's products and quality.
I couldn't tell you if they patented it or not, but according to Ward's Auto:
as opposed to say a "me too" VQ engine that really broke no ground at all).
and didn't even require you to pay for navigation if you didn't want or need it
Funny thing about that! Leather seats were originally equipped on the outside driver seat of horse drawn carriages while the much more luxurious velour was saved for the interior passengers.

Not sure...just noticed since my '03 Spec-V more and more cars with only a lock cylinder on the driver's side and some that don't really have even that anymore. My '02 I35 doesn't have a lock cylinder for the trunklid which kind of scares me in the event the electric actuator for the trunk fails.
