Haha. I could probably keep up for like 200 meters. But then I’d need to take a seat.

He missed no plays? So they conducted a concussion assessment fast enough to keep him on the field without missing any time?

#11 on the panthers swoopin in like somebody was going for the last chicken wing

For perspective: My dude ran 26 4:40 miles in a row. Basically, he ran around a high school track in a minute and 1o seconds 105 times.

I’m all for less kids playing football. The head injuries and whatnot.

One of my favorite parts of big boxing matches is how everyone becomes a huge boxing expert out of nowhere.

More 20 year olds today are obese than 20 year olds in, say, 1990, or 1970.

What you say is perfectly accurate and correct, therefore since you posted this perfectly level-headed and accurate take to Deadspin, prepare yourself to be called a closet racist, sexist, misogynistic asshole who completely missed the point about how Serena Williams was a victim here and she’s the greatest of all

Honestly, focusing on individual actions when you have an entire system devoted to the consumption of junk food—with extensive marketing campaigns and an army of lobbyists pressuring the government to do absolutely nothing—is somewhat futile.”

we need to outlaw soda pop. i gave up soda when i was diagnosed with gout and the effect was immediate for me. i’d bet it would be for others as well.

I just don’t get it.. why is it so difficult to just treat EVERYONE the way they want to be treated. Why is so difficult to understand to treat everyone with basic respect and decency regardless of colour/race/gender? I mean I don’t understand why a class needs to be taught.

Can’t wait till tomorrow’s article about how courageous it is of a magazine to put a fatty on the cover. No one needs to be shamed but we also shouldn’t be accepting or promoting this as a lifestyle. If we can blame companies for making crappy tasty food then we can put blame on the people eating it too.

Who the hell do you think you are, speaking thoughtfully and with so much nuance?

But seriously, thanks for your work as an umpire and ref, and this take is the right take.

College football referee and baseball umpire here. So much of the commentary about this event has ascribed motivation to this official’s action, most of which is probably unwarranted. Ramos’s sole motivation was to enforce the rules, and enforce them as consistently as he could. He almost certainly didn’t want to

From the article:

FBI jurisdiction would only investigate issues domestically. Someone at the facility could have been discovered as a spy.... but it doesn’t seem like a solar research facility would yield much useful intel. My bet would be on a bomb threat or other issue relating to building safety that was construed as "domestic

I want to believe as well, but more likely, it’s spotted some sort of satellite array that N.Korea, China, or some other country that’s a threat to U.S. power., and so the FBI sticking their nose in seems to be the right thing to do.

Way off on Montano. Look at the three decade history of MMA, across any promotion domestic or abroad, and name one champion who was allowed to keep their title after either missing weight or failing to make the scale.

Woodley is doing the only thing he can in an industry that has fewer employee rights than the NFL. He’s controlling his own narrative but doing it in a way that forces fans and the UFC to give in eventually.

So glad to know I don’t exist. I can stop paying all these bills.
