The French woman rocking out was pretty great. In pants, too!

Johnny and Tara kept commenting on how actively she's mentored the entire South Korean figure skating team, down to helping them choose outfits and music. Apparently she's made it her mission to ensure the future strength of Korea's figure skating program. Total class act.
Agreed on all of this. I loved the combination of backless with long sleeves in Kim's outfit, and it was cool how the color seemed to change when she spun due to the colorblocking.
Yeah, to me this always feels like sitting in the bleachers and the guy next to you screaming at the home plate ref about balls vs. strikes. I don't trust my judgment against people who know every inch of the sport and watched the replay in minute detail.
James Franco and Shia LaBeouf standing side by side, slapping themselves. They could call it: Stop Hitting Myself.
Now there's an art project I could get behind- James Franco slapping himself over and over and over again.
It's impossible to go back- I also abandoned prime time once I started DVRing W/L. I even get annoyed at Gannon because every minute he spends reading something off a card/selling some story arc is time that W/L are silent. Stop talking about a sport you never played, Terrence! Let Johnny or Tara speak!
Because this seems like the best place to post this: LOGO'S HARDING/KERRIGAN REENACTMENT STARRING GIRLS FROM RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE!!!! You've done it again, RuPaul. Though I'm disappointed that it seems to be a bunch of very short sketches. I want a solid hour of this.
Johnny and Tara were pretty much blown away by everyone yesterday, too, except for the few unexpected implosions (Mao Asada, Yulia Lipnitskaya). I highly recommend DVRing their broadcasts- they show them on NBC sports network. Once I figured that out, I ditched the primetime broadcasts.
Kostner was amazing, and her story is impossible not to root for. I'd be pretty happy if the gold/silver/bronze standings held through the long program.
One of things I loved, loved about the Weir/Lipinski commentary on the live broadcast: they spent most of the men's long program saying "I guess no one showed up to win tonight" and "Seems like no one wants the gold". It was really refreshing how honest that felt. Some nights just don't fall into the standard…
Seriously- I don't know how I'll go back to the prime time coverage after Lipinkski and Weir. It even got tough to listen to Terry Gannon and his boring standard newscaster shtick. I never understood before why skaters who fell scored higher than others who didn't, but now I do. Thanks, Johnny and Tara!!
Smirking at how hilarious his jokes are?
Fair enough- I've only read a couple of these articles, and the ones I read had more of a sardonic tone.
So now it's the Right's turn to make embarrassing comments about Russia the way the Left did in the 1920s-1930s? "I'm sure all the horrible rumors are overblown, because we agree on a couple of key points!"
I guess, but there's a difference between "there's not a lot of furniture in my room" and "there's a stray dog living here! the front desk told me not to use the tap water near my face because it's poison!" I also mostly read the whole thing as code- it's an easy way to say that Russia under Putin is still not a…
Yikes. That was a creepy article.
One of my right wing relatives posted something about the whiny lamestream media complaining about their Sochi hotel accommodations. It was so bizarre I couldn't begin to unpack it. I wasn't sure if this was something she reached independently or some Fox News meme I missed. So… apparently there are pockets of…
Wow- it's not just me? I thought I was the only one still stuck on Civ II. I played Civ IV and Civ V a couple of times, but it just wasn't the same. My memory is that the newer games play very fast. Like, I could play through a whole game in a day, and in Civ II that would take weeks. I also found the culture…
Yeah, Great Library, Leo's Workshop, and United Nations. You're fucked if someone else builds the UN- you need the world to tolerate your "peacekeeping" missions against your neighbors.
