Oh, the amount of idiots attempting to insult me in the 'pending approval' section is downright comical, and largely based on a lot of assumptions about my age and/or play patterns. Both of the common assumptions are grossly out of alignment with reality.

HL2e1 (a little bit) and HL2 e2 (more so) did start to push things in a direction that there was something more to the world and the story, but in the absence of anything beyond those, I have to disagree that it's silly to discount things that haven't been (and likely will never be) released. Content is cut, projects

*You* may associate with a story more through a blank slate character, but I certainly don't. Gordon Freeman is a physicist in a fancy suit, and that's it. He has no background, nor personality, no life beyond what we, as a player, choose to project.

"The story of Half-Life 2 is considered by many to be one of the most memorable in gaming history."

"It came out on PC in 1998, and is held up as "the last great adventure game," more or less."

Clearly false. The best video game art book was The Art of Metal Gear Solid.

The only mod I remember using was a nifty player-owned 'home base' location that had a lot of really cool display things - pegboard that would hold and show every weapon (including each unique weapon), a display for the snowglobes, shelving in the armory that would neatly stack and organize all ammo and explosives,

I was going to reply to the main post, but you basically said everything I was going to, so yeah. This.

Running people out of cards to kill them in a TCG? Man, that is innovative and new.

Definitely missing both Death Vigil and Rat Queens.

Fun fact: "Koshka" is Russian for cat. Specifically female cat, IIRC.

I was just about to ask the same question :) High-five!

Note about the Evolve clip: the streamer and the two working the 'jump rope' are on the Evolve team (the TRS tags they sport is for Turtle Rock Studios). The idea was 100% spontaneous.

"Jesus Christ died on the cross. Now it's your turn!"

Target's Black Friday ad has all of the 3DS XL models at 149.99, which is where I think I'm going for mine. The Amazon listing only shows black/black and red/black for colors, where it seems that the Target price will apply to me precious pink/white.

This entire article could have just been a single sentence reading "Get a corded 360 pad. Plug it in. Play games." Maybe throw in a link to a good price from an online vendor (I got mine on Amazon for ~27 bucks w/ free shipping about 3 years ago).

I sincerely hope that one day, in the not-too-distant-future (sadly, not likely to be "next Sunday, A.D.") there is a system in place that both criminalizes such insane jackassery, and that effectively punishes and curtails it. If any of these jerks had said such things to this man's face, or written him a letter with

*Sylvanas.

But the Kraken loves you. It just wants you to come play...
