The bionics would reject their hosts if not properly synced. So the Gov't thought it was best to secretly kill off the bionic candidates loved ones and use their relationship as the catalyst for a successful attachment.

I think not calling it Souls was a smart move considering how different of an approach it takes. It has the same core ideas but expresses those ideas in new ways. The "Souls" name implies a certain playstyle, and this game seems to seek to break that playstyle.

I think it's kind of sad that we have to label other peoples' sexual fantasies with words like "creepy", "slimy", "icky" and "gross".
