as a son of the midwest, and (envious) friend to many people are are aggressively NOT on the internet, I disagree - I think the public mostly don’t care, not about trans people, not about whatever dumb shit the villain du jour is being hateful about, most people are NOT plugged in to the outrage machines (like this

i don’t have a fighter in the ring for this issue (get it!?) but i always love when articles utterly saturated with ads begging me to whitelist their site villainize people and corporations for trying to protect the IP. i’ll literally get choked off kotaku’s fuckin’ auto-play ads in an article about how evil nintendo

it feels good.

totally lost in the sauce: the pokemon tcg is an extremely fun tcg

yuuuuup

I think this is the quintessential don’t think too much about it movie

this looks so fucking awesome and i feel so bad for anyone who doesn’t think so

what’s worse: the jenner & pepsi solve police brutality with a can of pop OR the arm’s race to be the biggest corporation to condescendingly impress upon the mouth-breathing masses that together, with NAME OF BRAND HERE, we can all come together to get vaccinated for COVID?

i’d like to hear a little bit more about this

i’m so tired of the jk-is-bad take (not because she isn’t, its just a go-nowhere story now) but this is fucking hysterical.

i just want everybody in these comments who is saying this show is holding its cards too close and intentionally alienating its viewers from any larger frame or context for the narrative device is correct and that doesn’t make you a neckbeard badguy fanboy, it makes you literate lol

yeah I’m with you on that, the beginnings of good character work (even a tense love triangle) take shape when Zoey & Simon talk and you think - oh, some believable and interesting tension might grow out of this - and then she gets home to talk about it with Max and he just vomits all over himself

everything that comes out of his mouth makes me yell at the tv

I so badly want to like this show, the premise is really cool, the musical numbers are (mostly) enjoyable, and the cast is solid. I just wish - especially in this second season - Zoey and basically everyone in her life weren’t two seconds away from the brink in every moment of every plot beat of every episode like for

looking forward to Coheed & Cambira’s sequel to the reimagining of the classic “Jesse’s Girl”

this is great, I love this genre of writing, nice piece Ash!

lol creep band makes music for game about creep nerd neat

cartoonishly stupid take

i like the people in the comments who think they’re slick ripping off THE LOSERS CLUB podcast commentary, hilarious

such a stupid take, people love these properties, and want to play games that utilize these properties. not sure why making shit people want and like is a bad move for big game publishers.
